Isn't it harder to finish eighth than first? I mean, think of all the tactical planning and not going out to win every game to finish eighth? I mean if you want to finish first you can just win all your games it's easy. Well in lads, a draw against Blackburn will keep us there, a lose might see us slip down so c'mon!
We stopped the rot (sort of) and played better (sort of), Agger and Bellamy could be back in the team for the Everton game which will only help us. I think we saw Henderson in his best position today in deep centre midfield. Him and Lucas could form a decent partnership for us I think. Either Skrtel or Suarez for man of the match today, no-one else really stood out. Still a terrible result against a weak Villa team but after the awful run we've been on we have to take it one step at a time and at least we showed some kind of improvement out there.
Henderson decided today was the day to show everyone why he never takes shots. I'll never complain about him passing up shooting opportunities again.
Twenty-one shots and just five on target tells you everything you need to know about this Liverpool squad. Never mind the two or three woodworks, the three penalty shouts and eleven corners we got today! Villa never came to play football though, they came to defend and time waste which they did to great effect. I reckon we only saw half hours worth of football!
What is the biggest points gap ever between United and Liverpool in one season? Must have been something huge back in the 70's/80's.
Actually Dalglish was the man who spotted Shelvey and recommended him to Rafa. Dalglish actually visited Shelvey's parents home in person to talk about the move. Wilson was Dalglish's work to.
Can't finish and am getting right tired of the excuses of unfortuntate, luck, woodwork, ref. How about score when your inside the box? Didn't one of our greatest , if not the greatest, say put in the net and we'll worry about the rest later? Good to see us play fluid again and Agger and Bellers back but it just felt like a draw from the off and that is what we got........ again.
We could use a bit of that right now! Ah well, what else did we expect? With Blackburn losing pretty badly today, they will be up for it on Tuesday, that is going to be tough.
I missed the game today. Review it briefly for me. I get the impression it wasnt good though. Who was good and who was bad? And how was Doni?
One good thing from today is how assured Doni seemed to be. Incredibly composed on the ball for somebody making their first competitive match of the season (but then again he is Brazilian!). So at least we're heading into the FA Cup semi final with a good solid keeper.
Oh well, sun is shining I'll be out and about in a bit, might hit up downtown who knows. We got a point to celebrate! Wa-hoo!
Seems too keen to get us attacking at times though, he kept throwing or kicking the ball instantly when maintaining possession was more important.
