They don't normally adopt those tactics, SJW.
Just like Stoke have started to do, they pick their side and their tactics based upon their opponents.
Superior footballing side? Play a patient, negative game.
Equal or inferior side? Try to get Sessegnon on the ball as much as possible, whilst getting crosses in from Larsson and McClean attacking his full-back.

To be fair to Sunderland though, Sessegnon is quality.

Larsson has always impressed me as well and McClean is gonna get better and better.

The BBC's bloke clearly fell asleep. Can't say that I blame him.

Yep. They were so patient, I couldn't hear them for most of the game. They made your lot look noisy. They must have been royally entertained.

The people that broadcast the game live said 35/65. I'll stick with them.

  10. Can't see Sessegnon staying around there too long if that is going to be the way they play regularly.

Both teams played not to their best.

We nullified Bale so you had to go through the middle a lot, but we nullified Adebayor so that proved difficult.

Parker was your Sweeper/CB/DM dont think he got over the 1/2 way line until the 85th minute, this in turn nullified our counterattack. (which is how we play)

I just think both teams cancelled each other out.

As for possesion meh Swansea have 75% possession regular, if you dont do anything with it in the final third, then you get no sympathy. think they had 75% yesterday, got beat 0-2.

  16. Some lessons learned for Monday and the rest of the season:
As much game time as possible for Lennon
    Livermore for Sandro
    More game time for Defoe

Other than that, plus ca change!!

I'd love to see Foy explain how we came out of that game having committed more fouls and picked up more cards.

You mean newly promoted Swansea, who are just 3 points behind you? That possession must have added up to something.

Thats the point though, they are behind us and we were nearly bottom 3 at xmas, so something must be working for us just as much as them.

Stop being bitter, it was a draw get the **** over it and move on. (both teams didnt play well)

  20. But one team at least tried to play. Your negativity was astonishing - home team, in form and safe.
You didn't just nullify the opposition, you also managed to negate your own attacking options.....
Surprised you are happy with that lack of ambition, even accepting any general improvement since Xmas
