Yep, thats right, four months till our next match of note. Thank God for the euros as a distraction. With the non existent transfer activity back in August, most of us predicted a rubbish season, some talked even of relegation. Sadly it has turned out pretty much as expected, a handful of good performances, a few battling or lucky results but for the most part a load of rubbish. I'm hopeful however, that we have reached a sort of watershed. A top class manager at last who can motivate and also knows what sort of player to buy to get us out of the Championship. If Lorimers comments are to be believed in the yep (jury out on this one), there appears to be a realisation within the board that squad is useless and reinvestment is now a necessity. So roll on next August and hopefully a brand new Neil Warnock team full of players he wants rather than ones forced on him for one reason or another
Well, thats good for you but I'm not really interested in the Euros so I have no distraction. So depressing...
Are you always this depressing Josh? It's the blind optimism and false hope when the reality is there is not a cat in hell's chance that kills you. You could have got all this downbeat stuff out of the way a few months ago and could be looking at the crumbs of inspiration and glimmers of possibility in the far future. Lorimer is suddenly saying the squad is not good enough? Is this after Bates ststaed on his radio show that it was Grayson's fault for buying those players, having previously told us he had never turned down a player, although plenty had turned down his paltry offers? There are plenty in the squad that are good enough. It's just they are the ones who will be sold in our summer explosion of activity, rather than added to. Lorimer likes his time in the limelight. Pity he is so stupid. Great left foot, crap mind.
I am extremely concerned about this new buzz phrase floating around at the moment, about us being "leaner and meaner" next season. Pair that with the chairman's comments about getting the youth involved more and it's fair to expect we'll have a smaller squad made of fewer experienced players next season. They are buttering us up for selling our best players and replacing (some of) them with youth, I just know it. These comments about how "big" our squad is all the time, it's pathetic.
I some times wonder why some support any football team let alone Leeds. You're a prime example. If you can never find anything positive at all, why bother? Unfortunately far too many on forum in a similar frame of mind. Life's too short
well played Even a week ago I was still being positive about this season, I watched that Reading game and to be fair I havn't read any views on the game yet but it just pissed me off. Everything about it was utterly depressing, we were playing as if there was no possible way we could compete with them so we were just trying to break it up as much as we could. We were time-wasting from about 30 mins in the game, Warnock failed as a manager with his tactics and his substitutions were too late. He then blames the referee completely for us losing, the game just got me that's all. I'm positive others will think we played well
