But he cut off the opportunity for reasoned debate on this issue.


Next caller – slightly older and was reasoned. Steve in Huddersfield. “Thank the Lord the season is over. We set out to fail.”

“Yeah” – P Lorimer. WTF? This is a director!


“We lost 5 major players. The season has been an abject failure. Ken Bates came with 3 targets – buy back TA, buy back ER, get promoted, and he has failed in all those. Why is he still here?”

He stayed on the line instead of being cut off. Lorimer was struggling.

“If Mr Bates is not prepared to loan the club money so that we can go forward, he should stand aside.”

Lorimer states no-one has come in to buy. This is counter to what LUST is stating – Bates wants someone to invest but not take control.

Kirwin – “Peter is keen and able to answer any and all queries.” Except the previous caller who was cut off.

Next caller – “why is Bates still in charge after 7 years and we only in Champ? Why spend money on ground, not team?”

There’s some real interesting Bates-based questions. No-one is talking about the game.

 

Lorimer has is crib sheet to read off as supplied by Bates and Harvey.

Very disappointed to say Lorimer has let himself down big style, he needs to get his head out of Bates arse!

Peter talks about better quality players being brought in.

How does the club do that with a very tight wage cap?

 

Don’t expect any quality player to come in, we don’t have the money for it
And the players Warnock has brought in is no better than the ones we have shipped out. It is extremely frustrating.

Aidy White - as long as he is taught properly - is going to be an absolute gem. Probelm is he needs proper teaching and his time is running out. I blame the coaches, not the player

 

I feel sorry for Thom on the phone in, he actually agrees with the "bates is a stingy twat" bunch. But obviously he can't say it on air, as bates owns the station

The problem is that nobody at the club is willing to accept that the club being run poorly is a reasoned argument. So on the phone in, they are asking people to ring in to discuss what the problem is, but when anybody wants to actually discuss what the problem is they get cut off. There's so little talk of the elephant in the room, it's pathetic.

 

Hay Marko, that sounds like the Nuremberg defence? And we all know what happened to everyone that used it!

 

Which would be fair enough if I hadn't had a conversation about it with Thom and his brother Bill at his house in Cookridge the other week. My girlfriend's foster carer is Thom Kirwin's mum.

 

gotta ask - how old are you, how old is your gf, and is this pertinent in relation to why she has a foster carer Marko? Is this the only way programmers get girlfriends; catch 'em young?
