I personally think 7th place is where we should aim for. 7th and a possible Europa place. Also I hope we don't sign agbonlahor like some people were saying. Campbell is very similar to gabby and I think he's potentially better than gabby. I personally think we could do with a better holding/defensive midfield than Catts/ I have nothing against Catts, but we are trying to play counter attacking and passing football with a quickish tempo. We could do with a Tiote/Essien type player. One that will dispossess a player, maneuver past a player or two, keep a hold of the ball and start a counter attack. Cattermole is good defensively, but we could do with someone with a bit more flair, sharpness and overall technicality. Also I think we should try and sign Bendtner as long as he's willing to cut his wages down. Would he rather sit on Arsenals bench for 70k a week? Or play on our team for 40/50k a week? I think we should go after someone like Drenthe. He'd be great in our style of play. What do you think?
With MoN talking about giving Gordon a run out before the end of the season it looks like he is in the managers plans for next season if he can get him to sign a contract obv. Personally Gordon would be mad to leave, I love Mignolet and think he is going to be great but Gordon at his best is outstanding and will not get a better offer than us. If I was MoN I would go for... RB - Eboue - at Galatasary, only 28 and might want another crack at the prem, I personally thought he was wasted when he got shifted into midfield at Arsenal and if we could get him he would be a fantastic signing, on his day I thought he was one of the best right backs in the league. LB - Cheikh M'Bengue - left back at Toulouse, only 23 and would be a fantastic signing, would walk into our team and probs could get him for 4-6m CM - Etienne Capoue - central midfielder at Toulouse, I personally think Gardner will leave as I'm certain a midlands club will come sniffing, the lad is a holding midfielder but fantastic on the ball, miles better than anything we have in the midfield. W - Miroslav Stoch - plays for Fenerbahche and ex Chelsea, only 22years of age and I think Chelsea will be regretting letting him go, I have seen him a couple of times and he would certainly add creativity in our side CF - Asamoah Gyan - If its true and he is positive about a return to the club then welcome him back with open arms. Sess is his mate so it might help keep Sess and I'm sure MoN could get these two causing defences mayhem, they will be absolutely fantastic together CF - Hugo Almeida - We were linked in Jan and according to rumours MoN rates this guy more than Bendtner, a target man who can certainly strike a ball
I dont agree with the Cattermole comments, he is only a young lad and he will get better and better. We also have Colback who is a top young player and Meyler, so Im happy with our holding midfielders. I Think Gardner will stay cause he has already stated his home sickness was blown out of proportion, he only meant, what was the point of moving here if he wasnt gona get his game. Any of the Brum teams would be a step down for him! Id like us to sign a natural leftback. Taiwo on loan at QPR would be a cracking signing. We also need cover for McClean, so id like us to try and get Adam Johnston, even if its only on loan. Our obvious weakness is attack. I think this is the position where we are gona have to spend big. Id love us to try and get Llorente, ambitious as it may be!
Couple of points.. Just a guess like, but think the bright lights of London and the extra cash may swing it.. Just about the only thing you've ever said i agree with..
