But he does take our play further forward by a few yards , Hoggy and Eustcy both been immense ,but are too similar

As soon as that second Dobie goal went in Sean sent Britt on and left Garner on the bench. Will have done Britt no harm but Garner's confidence must be at a low.

Well, I think today was just a bad day at the office....for us and the officials.

They really were not good.....all the decisions going Blackpool's way...mostly for absolutely nothing. In fact...the one that happened just before Dobbie went on a run and scored his first goal was never a foul, and we were by the edge of their box.

From us looking dangerous...to them getting a well worked, but cheap goal.

We did have some chances....but very few materialised. There were maybe 2 or 3 shots on target...but it just didn't fall for us.

Second goal was a defensive shocker....Phillips beats the offside trap, defence stand around for 2 or 3 seconds waiting for offside whilst Phillips runs through until they decide to give chase. They do get back and stop him...but he turns them both and gives it to Ince...and Kuszczak brings him down. For me...this goal, and the first one, would have been avoided had Mariappa been on the pitch. Blackpool have fast, skilful players...Nosworthy and Taylor just couldn't deal with them every time.

Eustace had a good game, completely dominated their midfield...but Hogg was poor...Yeates and Murray were ok but needed to be better. Deeney and Iwelumo did well actually...but they weren't clinical...and that is something that will hurt us...because Deeney is a good player, but not a finisher like Graham or Sordell. Iwelumo is a handful...but he is too slow to be running onto balls. Even attacking a header is near to impossible for him.

I think we have done well this season, it is a few places better than I expected. We have 5 games left...and I think most will say "that's it now"....but looking at the fixtures I disagree. We can gain points...and the teams above us will take points off each other. It's a small chance..but one to hold on to! You never know...we are still only 6 points away after all.

Passing was poor today . Doyley was shocking in that dept. Chris had a decent game I thought. Ref was poor. Blackpool deserved the win and hope they crack on.
Club said today was a sell out - attendance was 16,300 or thereabouts. Our capacity is 19000 + according to most sources. You would expect some empty seats but I bought my ticket Tuesday - last one in the ground- and the chap I sat next to said he had returned it as his pal could not come. That doesnt explain why there were a row of 10 seats in and around B150, or that the 4 or 5 seats in most rows nearest the screen in the family area were not taken. I had no problem relocating there after half time. My pal had to buy tickets in the Blackpool end and had them couriered in - So away fans get to pay £10 as well?? Probably cost our club about £20k. Can we afford this? More questions for the ticket office meisters....

Probably should have been on at the start instead of Yeates, with Forsyth on the bench as back up. You can take it from that that I'm not a fan of Yeates - wouldn't be surprised to see him move on in the summer as he's failed to impress.

Monday's the time to start 'experimenting' IMO - start Britt and bring back Hodson - we've missed his attacking input.

I think that since the East Stand went down....the capacity can't be 19000+. There were empty seats...I'll give you that...but not 3000.

    --------------------

I think people are being harsh on Yeates. I don't think he did that badly today....could have done better but he wasn't the worst player on the pitch.

One of the main reason why I like Dyche is that he isn't one to make excuses which could have happened today as the officials were poor.

He accepted we were 2nd best and never really got going.

Maybe due to lack of width as neither Murray or Yeates played well whilst Hogg was pretty wasteful on the ball.

Blackpool were a step up in attacking quality (when they weren't roling around on the floor) so its not a disgrace but disappointing to not really perform in front of a big crowd.

The capacity of the ground is now 17,504 I think.

Pretty good summing up MadMoose. I think that once again the pitch played its part. Ball bobbled about a lot. Not an excuse though, we just didn't rise to the occasion.

For once, we were up against a team whose pitch is as bad as ours if you saw their game against Soton last weekend and with the nature of their play, they show that you can make the pitch less of a problem.

Skysports yearbook says over 19000, others say 17400 ish as frenchie maintains. Either way at least 1000 empty seats including those in the away end and with 1300 pool fans with 2500 allocated still doesn't stack up.

Blackpool were one of the better teams we have seen at the Vic this season , and they showed some quality .The first goal was well taken , after a good run at the defence--we would be praising it if we scored it. The penalty was fair enough, after our defence got caught out. We had no width today-neither Murray nor Yeates were ever really in the game. Murray did get into good positions on the edge of the box to shoot from cleared corners, but his shooting was poor. Taylor was oddly uncertain ---we did miss Mariappa , perhaps for the first time. But the main problem was lack of creativity again, which you need against the better sides. We are just as likely to lose any of the remaining games as win them , which is neither here nor there really. We must start looking forward to next season now, and with a bit of optimism actually. The bulk of this team should stay together, and with a couple of additions (creative players) could be a top half team next term.

Does that capacity also include the seats that are covered up between both sets of fans at the Vic Rd end?

We do miss Mapps, for his speed there are times two big guys at the back are good but when your up against pace you need pace! Sounded like a bad day at the office for us and what people are saying the officials<yikes>

Jesus........... what a dire, depressing, lacklustre and boring second half that was!!!! :emoticon-0113-sleep

And can someone have a polite word with Harry and tell him to stop embarrassing our club. We know the atmosphere is pants but he is not helping.

Okay Blackpool were fairly good but they weren't that good - we had no movement and lacked desire especially in mid field. But the main reason for our loss was we got absolutely no protection from a dreadful referee.Big Chris was fouled and fouled and fouled again yet the idiot in the black gave him nothing. Of course he should have dived to the ground and made out he'd been ploaxed and the referee may have considered giving a free kick - but I doubt it as it was clear he was only interested in giving Blackpool every avantage he could. There cannot be any sensible explanation for a referee such as we had today - it sounds churlish to say he cheated - but how else can you account for his desplay? Not just a few decisions went against us - they all did!

You can use the referee excuse for the first half (we didn't get a single free-kick in the first half and they got about 12). But that second half performance was all down to our players. Probably wasn't a penalty, it was probably offside anyway, but overall our performance today deserved to be a loseing one, I mean Blackpool didn't even get out of second gear today yet still easily won. Our players need to learn that the physical/long ball game isn't always going to work, and when it's obvious that it's not working try to play some football instead. And dont get me started on their first goal, THREE Watford players on Dobbie yet he still scores??? We are f***** when Mapps leaves.
