Am I the only one who dosn't get the Swansea vibe, 20 passes to get to the half way line, then 1 back to the keeper, then another 20 to back to half way line,another18 to get to the edge of the opponents box then 2 passes to get back to there keeper.75% possession creating zero chances, 2 pot shots from outside the box, the 1occasion when they have to defend and they concede . Would do my bonce in watching that week in week out.
It works when the team they are expansive. The idea is to keep the ball, however Newcastle, like us when we played them, just sit-off and let them pass it around the back. Arsenal pushed forward and gave Swansea a load of space to pass. Easily stopped, but it requires a lot of patience. And the fans need to accept sitting back and giving them possession, Syd wasn't happy with our game plan at the SOL against them
Their passing is impressive, they've passed us off the park, we just have more individual quality and have been very good tactically. But if they can stay in the premier league they can buy better players so who knows, I'm impressed, not entertained though.
Such a ****ing boring game. I don't get this 'beautiful football' lark at all. If you're the opposition team, then watching Swansea retain possession, pass it about and do virtually nothing with it is mindnumbing. I don't even think Krul was tested today despite a huge chunk of the possession and numerous shots on target. They rarely did much, and when they eventually did, it was some tame effort.
Swansea play a good game but, so did Blackpool last season and WBA a couple of seasons before that. Playing good football looks good but, in the end as some have already stated if you don't have an end product what is the point?
Half time 80% of possession, 1 down, and never a threat. They have no cutting edge whatsoever, it's pointless. Sigurdsson was outstanding once again mind, and Dyer. Mirror image of the game vs us at the SOL, the stats look like they were the netter team, yet the only team that was ever gonna score were the Toon. The footballing equivelant of a lass with perfect tits but 3 brain cells.
We just didn't fall into their trap today, some teams try to go there and be expansive against them but Swansea just pretty pass around them. We went, kept it compact in the knowledge that they're actually very blunt with Danny Graham not firing on all cylinders and despite having about 75% possession they didn't really look like scoring. They got found out tbh and they didn't have a plan B.
I thought you absolutely pissed it, you did what we did, let them have it, give them no space behind and they are ****ed. They are 2 players off a cracking side, sadly those 2 player (Sess & Cisse for example to keep it close to home would do it), they simple can, and never will afford.
