Apparantly he has signed a pre contract agreement with us.For anybody that doesn't know, he is a left sided midfielder who scored a cracker against us for Colchester at the Valley.
I would be delited if this is the case. This boy is special, however, if it came down to him or Jackson having to play on the Left I'd choose Jackson. Although this deal would give as many possibilities, Wordsworth in the middle, Jackson in the middle Wordsworth on the left. Will be a good deal nevertheless.
CC, is it the delete button on your keyboard or De Light switch in your living room that you are searching for?
Could this be the AckAck effect in action, he's been saying all season that he keeps texting Wordsworth asking him to sign for Charlton, maybe he's just signed to get Jonathan off his back, one in the eye for all the velcro lickers on here if so, who do we want Ackack to start texting next, Messi?
I'm not too sure we can rely on Jackson being injury-free for any lengthy period of time, sadly, and I half suspect Wordsworth is his replacement (if indeed this story is true). It's good forward thinking from Powell and the board to get this deal sewn up so soon.
Wordy's just signed a contract extention with us, so if this is true be prepared to cough up a huge wedge.
Only transfer news I can find on either club is in regards to a young Defender Anthony Stewart who plays for Wycombe, apparently Colchester and Stevenage are also interested... http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11684/7649824/Interest-in-Chairboys-youngster
If true, we should give Ackers another chance because he was ridiculed for suggesting it. But if untrue, we should send Dick Plumb to the nethermost circle of hell to keep Ackers company. But whether he comes or not, I think that is the correct path for the club to take. Sign the best players in Div One who are young enough to develop further. It worked OK this season and CP will know them a lot better after having them watched for a further full season.
That's the one small thing that's bothering me though - it worked this season, but will it work in the Championship? Wordsworth is undoubtedly a good League 1 player, but will he (and others) be able to make the step up?
Steady on there Eddie. JA suggested nearly every player from every club in every league in every country across the globe. He had to be right about one of them.
