I've been trying to imagine the 'scenario' you suggest - and I just can't. Is saying "Cloud...Land...Cuckoo...?" so very negative? You can't just write what you do and 'out-fan' anyone who thinks we're truly pooped for this season. Get a grip chum! This is a forum and, as such, should cater for all points of view. Like many others, I want(ed) City to get into the play-offs but, unfortunately, can't see it happening. UTT
She used to come in Duke when she was married to Jonny Lee Miller. The **** tried mugging me off over a Joe Bloggs jumper I sold him(Miller that is). Like I'd take less than a twenty spot for one of those bad boys. Gave the ****house a straightener in the car park and ****ed him and his bint off to the Swan. Never seen either of 'em since. You will never read a truer story.
This still stands. Brighton lost. Boro play Cardiff, we need them to draw. Beat Millwall and Boro and its on. Blackpool may be away from us now but the last play off spot is up for grabs. Brighton play Reading on Tuesday, rely on Watford to beat Cardiff and we are in the play off spots.
i secretly am still hopeful... i think we are **** when we are suppose to be favourites... we like to be the underdog that sneaks in at the last minute. 18 points left to get, more than enough to get through.
We are just so close. I tell myself it is over but can't resist looking at the table, I see were are still a game in hand over 2 of the top 6 clubs and suddenly there is a glimmer of hope. Lets just see how we shape up tomorrow. I hate the long journeys the team has to undertake and I am sure this is a small factor in the way they have played recently.
Spot on. If we can beat Milwall tomorrow. Form, injuries and confidence say we can't. If we could upset the odds though, and if we get Koren back for the last few games, then it's certainly possible. Agree with the call for Barmby to put himself on the subs bench, and play Garcia. Might just be the boot up the bottom they need.
There's a chance, given that other teams aren't doing particularly well either... but it is more our form, injuries and the general feel around the club now that says the season is over. Unless we win the two games over Easter, please let this thread die. I saw on a popular Liverpool forum that they had a thread saying they could still make it into the Champions League until after the Newcastle game.
the only problem imo, is even though you "never know" in football, I honestly think that whoever finishes third out of west ham, southampton and reading will win the playoffs. Those three teams are pretty strong and on form and would beat us.
Not so sure about that - whoever finishes third from those three will be gutted and could well lose out in the playoffs..
i caught myself looking at the table earlier and starting the what ifs, and you never knows... sometimes you just got to accept reality tho, 6 points would get us back in it but as much as i hate to say it, i think wel get 1 or 2 at the most, would loved to be proved wrong..
Until i actually think about our team i see the opportunity. Then you think of Mclean, Stewart and its hard to see a goal coming isnt it. Nick Barmby is no fool, surely he will have sat down and thought about where its gone wrong. I know Oli was poor but to discard a guy after one poor display was stupid, same with Garcia. Neither are world beaters but both solid experienced campaigners. This is where Nick earns his spurs as a manager, get in their heads and make em believe.
I too secretly hope we can sneak into 6th place (thats the only place achievable now IMHO) Then I remember how sh1t we are playing then reality bites and you have to agree the anyone seriously thinking we have a chance of claiming a 6th place is actually living in the land of cloud and cuckoo's And for you ever optimists, just look at our goal scoring capability, defensive frailialties and abysmal form and then ask yourself what's the most likely outcome? Good luck city today, I'll buy a lottery ticket this aft and we'll both have about the same chance of the big prize
Im pretty sure someone slipped something into my drink when i made this thread. Hello Patrick off Radio Humberside is at the door with Rafa Benitez...................
Erm......no we cannot. The game is now up for us but we can put a spanner into the works of Middlesboro and West Ham..........maybe ?
No he supports Hull but not wearing the rose tinted glasses you are. To make the playoffs we need to win all our remaining games and the teams above lose or draw theirs. 7th is possible but think we have blown playoffs
City just want to prove the Tickler wrong. If we can turn him into a doubter for next season we'll have the title in the bag.
