This news is a double edged sword, great for the lad and the team he plays for but it lessens the chance of us keeping him as his value will be soaring with each goal he scores.
I'm just going to enjoy the acolade and worry about the political side of success when the time comes
He deserves it. It gives him more recognition as he is a great player. Of course, it will make other clubs sniff around, but wether he stays or goes, he's done us great service and I will wish him all the best with his future.
unfortunately with success for a club like ours comes the drawback of bigger clubs interest in what we have got and want to take it for themselves, this will never end so enjoy the moment.......well done sig...
li'l ole swansea getting recognition for premiership exploits, who'd have thunk it ,certainly not all "The experts" that have been mentioned in some quarters ..you know these invisible experts that can ony be seen through blue tinted glasses lol
Stop worrying lads, enjoy the moment. Premiership player of the month, the favourite for manager of the season, plaudits from all pundits worldwide for the style of play THE BOARD AND FANS demand, no debt worries, new training facilities, planned extension on the stadium and Premier League football next year. Look back several years and just realise ....LETS ALL HAVE A DISCO. Bring on the summer and all it's comings and goings, we will still love the Swans and we will still be Premier League. We have faced bigger adversity than anything this summer could possibly bring and come out well on top. LETS HAVE IT! Swansea til I die !! Who are we ???
NOT so good!! According to newspaper reports, Arsenal are interested in Siggy. Seems that Wenger has been sounding out the present Reading manager who would have knowledge of Siggy when he was with them. Needless to say the report was good. If Arsenal are in we can forget him signing for us. Hope it's just paper talk but I could see Siggy fitting them like a glove.
I said a while ago that I think the gunners and maybe Liverpool might come in for him, nobody can think less of him if he goes to either, massive clubs both. Was looking at Borini and how he's doing over there, 9 goals in 17 games so doing good, not a chance of him coming back. Guess we have to look elsewhere.
What a pessimistic lot .... why would Sig join Arsenal and become one of an extremly long list of youngish, stylish midfielders, every bit as good as he is, and have to battle everyweek to make the bench or just be on the bus when he can comfortably command a place (at the moment) with us and develop his craft for a season or two.
Agreed, Yankee, We can see the logic in that but will he? Huge wages, glamour club, 60,000 home crowds, state of the art training facilities, European football, equals a lot of enticement to turn a young player's head.
Guys we are always going to be a development team - we will 'discover' the players and others will come in for them - Borini last year, Gylfi this year - nothing wrong with that, Siggi has played his heart out for us this season so good luck to him. Same with Brendan, some on another thread are already waving goodbye to him; I hope he stays, but if he doesn't good luck to him - we have a board who are grounded and make every decision with the wellbeing of SCFC in mind - they have brought us up from despair to dreamland in an incredibly short time; if Brendan go's (which I don't think he will 'yet' btw), if Siggy go's - we will still have Huw and Co, and they aint steered us wrong so far! So let's all remember where we were a decade ago, enjoy where we are now, and have a little faith in the guys that got us here! They will remain with us and I, for one, have the utmost faith in their ability to take us forward!
Best not to think of Sig & Caulker , plan without them . Celebrate if one or both make it back for next season , otherwise we'll move on to bigger & better value !!
