Basically Nick says that he would like to bring in 4-5 players and has already targeted which players he would like but he does not know if there will be any money yet. He also wants to keep the players he has got. Koren may be back next week and Chester will be back soon. Oli and Garcia are in the squad for the weekend. Adam says that money will not be available, we have to trade and bring in players out of contract. He stressed the Allams have put a vast amount of their own money into the club and this has to stop. The club has to be self sufficient. Everyone has to be patient so we can build the club. He believes that the amount of fixtures we played in March killed the players and by the Portsmouth game they had hit a brick wall.
We will lose some of this first team over the summer. Can Barmby wheel and deal, and get us the players in to compensate the loss of the ones we sell? Very busy summer, and Barmby has got to be on the money with how he assembles the squad for next season. Start badly and it won't matter who he is......
Adam said its unreasonable for the Allams to be expected to keep piling millions into the club. He said that they have already put 51 million into the club and pointed out that is more than John Henry at Liverpool, the Glazers at Man.Utd and Randy Lerner at Aston Villa have put into their clubs.
I just hope people realise that £51 million is a lot of money. It seems that if they spend, say another £5 or £10 million in the summer, then they are fantastic owners and we'll get in the premier league etc. But if they don't invest anything above the £51 million already spent - they are the bad guys with no vision for the club etc. By shifting a few fringe players and (maybe) the money freed up by some of the big contract players going (but that's a maybe) we can still bring in a few good signings and be stronger next season. I also accept that the stupid fixture pile up has caused us a few lost points and maybe killed our prmotion hopes this season. I think we'll do better next season.....
Surely Fryatts the one going nowhere? Unless the rumours of a bust up are true. We would sell Cairney straight up and we would sell Mclean if anybody wants him or a half decent bid is put in.
wasnt great at english at school, but pretty sure blaming tiredness in march then at the same time mentioning oli and garcia will be included this saturday is ironic...
Probably in a minority on this one but would keep Cairney over the other two, would like to see a new strikeforce at the club, and Cairney has a lot of experience for a young lad.
I wouldn't keep him over Fryatt, he will get us 10-15 goals every season basically and we can't gurantee anyone we will bring in will do that. I admit he isn't good enough for a top side, but he is alright. Cairney has potential but to flog Fryatt without anyone else guranteeing us goals would be daft.
We need to shift: McShane Ghilas Olofinjana of these Oli is a possible & Ghilas maybe due to him being the Ligue 2 top scorer in France - funny that a Hull City striker who netted only once for us is the top scorer somewhere but not in England.. can't see McShane going anywhere except another loan with us paying around 70% of his wages..
It may be a minority but there are at least two of us! I think with the right coaching and played in the right position Cairney could be a really influential player for us. I don't dislike Fryatt, I just don't think the system NB is determined to persevere with suits Fryatt and he'd fair much better with a team who play with two up front. The trouble is there aren't that many players that can succesfully play as the lone striker and those that can will probably command a fee and wages that are currently beyond our means.
Fryatt is a goalscorer who needs to play off a partner and not bear the load himself, Maclean is a grafter rather than a goalscorer, and Cairney is not living up to his potential. Therefore: Fryatt stays, Maclean could go, Cairney will go IMO
