This could be a ploy by Jose Mourhino to fire up Chelsea players against Barcelona. Accoording to him he is not expecting to play Chelsea in the final if Real Madrid makes the final. This man loves Chelsea. Source:http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/17617990
nah.... the guy is just saying what everyone expects. to big up chelsea when the whole world and spnaih press would call him an idiot is not worth it. plus it gives RA a slight. Of course he'd love an easy ride i nthe final but the fact is barca will walk through chelsea all day long and he knows it so he's happy to just say so.
I really think every one is under estimating Chelsea for this semi final. They are underdogs, but it will certainly not be easy for Barca.
I agree. He knows that he will find it very difficult to beat Barcelona. He has tried many times and even when Real are running away with the league, he cannot beat Barcelona on a 1-1 basis. He simply has no answers for Messi and Guardiola. I think he has only bwon once in a dozen matches. He would much prefer to have Chelsea. He is trying to get his previous team fired up. It might be close but I cannot see Chelsea beating Barca over 2 legs.
I agree- nothing is certain in football. But I'd still bet my wife on Barca winning. If I still had one. Btw, jk. I think you should change you name to your sig. Brilliant.
I don't think anyone in their right mind would expect Chelsea to beat Barcelona over two legs. They were totally outplayed by Benfica in their own ground IMO and if it was'nt for Benfica wasting chances and losing their heads they would have gone through easily. Im not saying its impossible for Chelsea to go through but ill predict a 7-2 agg win for Barca.
Or the ref literally booking them for every hint of a foul. I'm not sure where the first leg of the semi is, but if it's at the Bridge, I wouldn't be surprised to see a draw there and then a 2-0 or so at the Camp Nou. We say Chelsea aren't to be underestimated, but they squeezed past two teams we've beaten easily enough in recent seasons. 3-1 on aggregate flattered them against Benfica and Napoli really should've put them to bed in the first leg. Chelsea just edged Leverkusen overall in the group stage (would've been 3-2 on aggregate.) What happened to them against Barca?
Chelsea are long long outsiders to get to the final. You'd be hard pressed to put two of the Chelsea 11 into Barca's team and as a team, Barca also play much more fluidly and as a unit than Chelsea do. Even if they try to man mark Messi, Xavi and Iniesta would run the show. Against Benefica, they were carved open at times and Barca are a massive step up from them. Simply put, no chance unless they get some seriously good fortune and decisions go their way.
Agreed. However, Chelsea (although a much better team then) deserved to beat them the last time round. I cannot beileve how they lost that tie. Incredible refereeing decisions. So they are due some luck.
Watching Aimar play brought back memories of how badly I wanted him to come to Anfield in the Rafa years! They did play some slick stuff at times yesterday!
Aimar has always been a quality player but never stepped up from his Valencia days to the next level. Shame really, undoubted talent.
At River and valencia he was so good, one of my favorite players. Although it has dried up recently with River and Boca producing hunners of talent. The last one I can remember leaving Argentina for a big fee was Falcao when he went from River to Porto.
i dont think he loves Chelsea..he just uses them as his emotional bitch. when his Inter played Chelsea a few years ago he was waiting to greet them in the dugout as the chelsea team stepped out and everybody said' awwwwww' but really he was their to put them off and get them all loved up again so that it might hinder their performance. and now he is saying that in order to fire them up in the hope that they step it up againt Barca. chelsea is Mourinhio's bitch...he slaps them in any direction he wants even thoug he doesnt manage them.
