His last three jobs in club management - Palace, Middlesbrough, Leeds - were hardly spectacular. Also, if Levy wants to think about the club's image following 'Arry's dalliances with HMRC, Venables is a terrible choice: his business dealings cost him his job at Spurs and with England, plus he's done massive amounts of damage to the finances of Palace (twice!) and Portsmouth when he was there.
I think Venables has been out of it too long and talks a load of rubbish now, too busy trying to crack jokes. I've just found out that in the last few days, Venables has returned to football as a Technical Director for non-league Wembley FC. I'm sure its no coincidence the club have just recently been sponsored by Budweiser, who are pouring silly money in!....same ol Tel!...oh, hang on, doesn't he criticise players who move for money?
He seems to be letting himself down a bit in his old age. I mean who grows a goatee at his age ?? I find myself going from having a lot of respect for him, to just laughing at a silly old fool. Wembley FC ?? Oh please Terry...
He left cause of that twat Sugar. I just remember how good he was for us, the rest is true but for us, no complaints.
I believe Peter Reid and Big Fat Sam are both renowned for their ability to knock back the Budweisers. However, if you want a real drinker to manage a side, then George "make mine a treble" Burley is yer man.
He (allegedly) was challenged to a drinking competition by the Spurs supporter Claire Tomlinson, who reckons she can put it away (including Bryan Robsons knob), and she (allegedly) drank him under the table on the Buds, but when they moved onto the vodka, Reidy took over <smiley>
Incidentally, Claire Tomlinson sits in the west stand at most home games and is one sexy lady. Goodness only knows what she ever saw in "Mr Personality", Bryan Robson
I haven't checked Wikipedia PNP, but she's definitely Spurs. I reckon I've seen her at WHL dressed in her Spurs gear at least 10 times this season. She was also at a couple of the NextGen games. Curiously, before she started working at Sky TV, I believe she was previously employed as Wenger's PA !!
I knew that she was a Spurs fan SC, though she did previously work at Arsenal, I was just wondering how anyone dared to make such a slanderous suggestion!
Conte has done a good job at Juve this season - they've spent several years in the doldrums following the Calciopoli scandal, but now they're challenging for the title. If he could tempt Quagliarella or Vucinic to follow him, even better. As for Bilic, I get the feeling we'd reinstate the DoF system if he took charge, which would be a mistake, not least because the DoF picks the manager they work with, whilst when we had the system Levy regularly did the opposite, be it overruling Arnesen's advice to hire Jol as manager to go with a "bigger" name in Santini, or hiring Comolli and expecting him to work with Jol - which led to Comolli working against Jol until he got his way and Ramos came in.
