Who is the best player you have seen playing at the SOL?

Does not have to be a Sunderland player.

    One of Bergkamp & Henry.

Probably gotta say Bergkamp, he just used to own the park, Henry was ruthless and brilliant, but Bergkamp pissed excellence.

Probably the best player the leagues ever had, IMO (Henry very close).

    2 for me.

Mark Hately friendly with Rangers, i was just a youngun but i believe he tore us a new one, and then ripped it to shreds, scored 2-3 goals that night and could have had 10

Andrei Kanchelkis for Man U in a reserve match, pace was phenomenal, must be 15-20 years ago or so, but pretty sure they beat us by 6 and he had a hand in all the goals.

PS: these were at Roker not the SOL, but football started before we moved to the SOL so meh.

Unusual choice here but I remember the day after Chelsea signed Torres we got beat 4-2 at home to them and Nicholas Anelka was just unplayable, clearly knew Torres was his replacement, I remember leaving the ground and thinking that was the best individual performance I'd ever seen, however as an all round footballer it would have to be Bergkamp, the greatest I've ever seen

I remember that game as well, though I was only 10 at the time! Was it Belgium they were playing? Can't quite remember...

I think Ronaldo scored 2 goals for Man Utd at the SoL, but it has to be Thierry Henry for me.

Haha it might be, though searching for that could run long into the night and I'm supposed to be going to the Darkside for a night out later, I'll see if my dad remembers!
