Cave St definitely followed by Dundee St. I tried that one in Brid that keeps winning awards, bloke annoyed the fuk out of me. He kept talking and been friendly. I dont want that in a Chippy. My two, you get a grunt at best in the Hull tradition.
Oh and both do superb Pattys.
Haddock Patty and Chips and a carton of mushy peas. I cant wait.

always fish, chips, an extra-large battered sausage and a large carton of mushy peas for me on a Good Friday, doused in a 1/2 litre cocktail of ketchup, salt and vinegar

wash it all down with a tin of D&B and you're absolutely fooked :D

Fish, pattie, peas and chips, there's no place for a sausage in that ensemble.

Sausages arent allowed or Tomato ketchup!! Theres something wrong with anyone over the age of 12 putting ketchup on. HP brown sauce is a man's sauce. Got to have pickled onions too, the big uns not those weedy silverskin things.

Stewarts of Driffield opened a chippy near me & that's good.

When i'm in Hull, i go to Golden Fry.

It's either Patty, Chips, scraps & mushy peas or Haddock & Chips, scraps with mushy peas, plus loads salt vinegar and i like the chip spice.

Brown sauce on fish and chips is usually a Scottish thing.

Anyone's chippy still do scallops? I haven't seen them for a while, I used to get scallop and chips from the old chippy in Anlaby when I was a kid(chips, with a giant chip).

Stewarts is the best in Beverley, i use Goldenfry too if it's that one just off Queen Vicky Square, not the best there but fills a gap!

We used to roll out of the Bear, at closing-time.....across Spring Bank to the White Rose, between Middleton & Mayfield Streets. Probs no longer there - but did ace Fish and Chips in its time.
