and it got me thinking what he has witnessed at Sunderland since his arrival. Born in April 2009 he saw a relegation escape under the temporary management of Ricky Spragia and at the same time saw a welcome relegation to Newcastle. Daddy was happy. 2009-2010 saw progression halted by a woeful 2nd half of the season. Newcastle were champions but its ok son we finished 13th with a better squad, had the top English scorer that season. Things are looking up. 2010-2011 Another poor end to the season but somehow we finished 10th overtaking Newcastle in an amusing end of season weekend. Daddy happy again. This season my lad has seen the true life of a Sunderland fan. I couldnt have built the game against Everton any higher for him. A trip to wembley?? We were singing before the game, jumping around etc etc................10 minutes in I was less confident and the game drifted away. Get used to that son, thats the way it is. I went for petrol in the second half after the own goal further draining the fuel in the North West. My point being that since his birth we have shown gradual progression each season. Does this mean in 4 years we will reach the champions league?? Thats how it works isnt it?? Happy birthday my boy and welcome to the roller coaster world of Sunderland AFC!
Maybe he'll get to see them lift a cup.... Happy birthday to him... And on that note, i'll think i'll go and have a pint to celebrate..and watch some honey's.... Good evening all.
Its not all bad being a Sunderland fan Billy, just nearly all of it, happy birthday to the new generation.
Cheers lads. Wait until he makes friends and they are all Man Utd and City fans!! ha ha At least he should be individual.
