Well lets hope it is, a good day for anyone travelling north for Saturdays game, a good Friday for our injured players to get back to fitness and or other players to get in a good training session, a good Friday for MON to get his tactics finalised and a good Friday for you to relax, enjoy and prepare.

What do other do at Easter?

Follow those Norwegians and indulge in some traditional food, slope time and après-ski, we may have the weather for it.

Slavic countries - it is a pre-requisite to decorate ones eggs for Easter. This is traditionally done on Maundy Thursday. Get those eggs boiled, we did that in years gone by.

The Bulgarians traditionally fight with eggs in pairs. The last surviving egg & winner are called borak. They've even got their own Easter Salad too, mixing lettuce and cucumbers. Maybe an idea, 5-1 and Badger against Roger and MrRAW.

Ever felt fireworks were missing from Western festivals? Fear not, the Dutch and Flemish have Easter Fires, which they light on Easter Sunday at Sundown. Roger and Bill will organise it.

Indian Christians exchange lanterns and cakes on Easter Weekend, not a lot to add.

In Finland, Sweden and Denmark, small children decorate pussy willows and do their own version of trick-o-treating. They dress as witches and exchange decorated items for candies. This is a result of the mixing of an old Orthodox tradition (blessing houses with willow branches) and the Scandinavian Easter witch tradition. Commo and Billy will enjoy some pussy decorating.

Bermudans may be English-speaking but they also like to get active. Inhabitants of the home of the Easter lily fly kites to mark Christ's ascent. Anyone for kite flying on Seaburn beach?

Brazilians like to party. Welcome to the Hangover Ball also known as Carnival 2 to celebrate the hanging of Judas. MM will feel at home.

Papua New Guineans follow Brazilians as Easter Sunday means an Easter Tree. At the front of churches are small trees, on which sticks of tobacco and cigarettes are hung. Post-service, these are
distributed amongst the punters. Party time!

Excite yourself on Easter Monday. In the Czech Republic and Slovakia, a tradition of spanking or whipping is carried out on Easter Monday. In the morning, men spank women with a special handmade whip called a pomlázka (in Czech) or korbáč (in Slovak), or, in eastern Moravia, Poland and Slovakia, throw cold water on them. The spanking is not painful or intended to cause suffering; a legend says that women should be spanked with a whip in order to keep their health and beauty during the whole next year. Unvisited women reserve the right to be offended and exact revenge by pouring cold water on the men of their choice. My flight is booked and whip packed, a Monday spank session for me.

All this and three points on Saturday will mean a very good weekend had by all.

It's a massive deal here, street parades the lot.

Everything shuts tomorrow, and doesn't reopen till Monday.

I am basically obligated to spend the next 5 days pissed up.

    Jackpot.

The English tradition of watching as much football and eating as much chocolate as I can although in the real world that is not going to happen. However I may unleash the Czech Republic traditions on the wife on Monday, probably while she remains sleeping to save rejection!

    We feel your pain

In my experience spanking while they sleep is always a good idea, oh and pulling the nighty down when finished.

This brings back memories of Easter Monday at Ryhope Poplars Club, where contestants had to hit each others egg until one broke and they were out. We called it 'jarping'.
As for being put up aginst 5-1 or Badger...I would certainly use a RAW egg, and smash it straight over their thick heeds..

My tradition is to drink as much alcohol possible between opening and closing hours for pubs & clubs. Last year I think (Think being the main word) made it home by 1am on Saturday morning. Don't know how I'm going to get out of my pit for the game, couldn't believe it when I seen it was an early kick off!

I'm at the 17th Chester le Street SAFC supporters dinner at the SOL Thursday, where the guest speaker is none other than our very own super skipper, Kevin Ball.

So I'll be sleeping it off Good Friday. Lol
