No, I am not about to suggest we should get Cilla Black in as our manager... I personally cannot see him winning his bet. But what are your thoughts?
Hope Powell is the only Female manager I could see making the switch but she has the biggest job in english womens football (She was once linked with the managers job at Grimsby... I think?!), I can't see her swapping that for the stress and pressure in the mens game. even if the money would be a load better
I will bet him his house, his moeny anything, i'll give hijm 20/1 on that bet... no problem. here's the thing, is there ANY female managers at the top in the female game? are there any in non league in england in the male game? he's being really specific, he's not saying anywhere in the world but in england. aint going to happen
To be honest if someones good enough, they're good enough - but I cant see this happening in the next 10 years. The only route would be through womens football, and it isn't promenant enough yet. It could be messy though, could you imagine having a female manager at somewhere like Chelsea? Terry would defo try to shag her and a few others would line up to stir the porridge.
Sorry but we have been talking about the likes of Carra and Gerrard with Hodgeson and the Chelsea squad with AVB. Having a female manager would just create so many problems, football is rasicst, homophobic and sexist enough. For the sake of the woman, it would be a bad idea. Although Sian Massey (sp) is a fantastic linesman.
There is no place for psychotic menopausal women in the mans football game. They can stick to their own fooball. Or be content with being housewives. There's always plenty ironing to be getting on with.
I think the problem is that, largely, men don't take women's football seriously yet. If womans football continues to develop and grow into a prominent sport in the UK, then the crossover from the mens game and the womans game won't seem too crazy an idea. I find 10 years an unrealistic goal for it though...
FIFA have just agreed to appoint their first woman. Expect more of them in the game. That's a good thing, although we certainly have enough tits whining about results lately.
Womens football is pretty laughable compared to mens imo and I would be shocked if a woman was ever put in charge of any professional mens team. Most men don't take womens football seriously and until they do there will never be a woman manager at a top club, imagine the stick the woman manger would get form the opposition fans if her team were losing.
