Do you think its time he called it a day? I feel sorry for the guy, injured for most of his Man Utd term hoping to make a comeback and suffers a shoulder injury.

I don't think he should pack it in yet. Before his injury he was England's best defensive midfielder since Paul Ince, and possibly the best at man marking since Nobby Stiles. I reckon he should give it another go in pre season and try another comeback next year, when he'll still be 30. If he can't get an injury free run next autumn, he should probably pack it in.

I'd expect him to get an appearance related one year contract this summer, although a lot will depend on whether the coaching staff give him a reasonable chance of recovery for next seaso.

As we all know, we haven't seen much of Hargreaves. But, if he was a few years younger, I probably would provide him with a new contract. From my point of view, I have never seen an English midfielder like Hargreaves, that's just my opinion. I hope both Hargreaves and Scholes remain at United until next season.

I definitely agree with you on that, based on our current situation with our midfield, We must continue to have believe in Hargreaves. We cannot resort to criticising a player who cost us £17 million, I honestly think he'll recover by next season and will have major impact on our set of new players whom are coming into the squad. I can imagine Hargreaves playing alongside Ashley Young, Nani and Rooney, those three players are all outstanding young players. Hargreaves can provide us that age experience, that Giggs and Scholes provide us with at the moment.

I don't agree - we've got a new medical complex and rehab centre as part of the £10 million expansion of Carrington so we might as well put the thing to use trying to get him back. Even if he doesn't reach the same level he was at before the injuries he'll be better than most.

I'd offer him a short term contract with low basic salary whilst he trieds to sort himself out, and at least give him the first couple of months of last season to try and stay injury free - it's a lot easier to come back from injury in autumn than in March.

Obviously we don't know exactly what his condition is and i think how his examination with that new medical centre will have a massive impact on any new deal

I agree, but the fact that he seems to keep injuring different parts of himself implies to me that he's not got a major problem in any one area, just a chronic shortage of match fitness, which may be remedied by a decent pre season. That's the hope anyway...

Yeah I think it is time for him to end his playing days, He has been out so long now.
But it could be best to see if he can come back this season and if he is any good then decide.
