Paper talk I hope. Arsenal lining-up bid for Sunderland attacker Published on April 3, 2012 by Matthew Wood · 1 Comment Arsenal are lining-up a summer swoop for Sunderland attacker Stephane Sessegnon, reports the Mirror. The Benin international has been a revelation for the Black Cats since signing on from PSG in January 2011 – although the Gunners could face competition from Sessegnon’s former club who are believed to want the player back in France. It is speculated that Arsenal could offer around £10m for Sessegnon who has hit seven goals from 27 matches in the Premier League so far this campaign. However, the 27-year-old has a contract at Sunderland until 2014 and boss Martin O’Neill will be desperate to keep hold of one of his best players to improve the club’s fortunes for next season. PSG sold Sessegnon to Sunderland for a fee of just over £6m less than 18 months ago and would need to increase that figure substantially if they wanted to re-sign the attacking midfielder. http://www.cleansheetsallround.co.uk/2012/04/arsenal-lining-up-bid-for-sunderland-attacker http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...-Sunderland-playmaker-Stephane-Sessegnon.html
I think it is paper talk as I saw one paper saying that Liverpool were interested over the weekend. If I were a journo staggering back from the pub with 2 hours to go to my deadline and having written jack all so far I would probably invent a story about Citeh preparing a bid purely on the basis of how he walked through their superstars time after time on Saturday - nobody at Citeh is going to deny it! THat being said unfortunately I agree with Mr RAW, he has proved he can cut it in the EPL and I think that probably all of the present top 5 are looking at him at the moment and assessing how he can fit in to their teams. Based on Young and Downing last year I'd say something in the order of £17m would be a fair price.
I'd like to see Sess stay personally however, if anyone with ambitions to take Sessegnon from us comes courting, then they had better have large bank balances to match their desire. Starting bids should be a minimum £20m with a target price over £25m. Nothing less.
Saw this too.. is the Sess homesick? Well if this is how he plays when he's homesick... then again, we all knew he was class before you signed him. What on earth happened to Jean Makoun though? He was supposed to be good too. Bizarrely enough I think if you had the Sess and Gyan together they'd both be more settled. It's best to sign africans in pairs or even 3's. As it has been practised by your vastly superior neighbours. The Demba-Demba train anyone?
just like to point out this article was written by simon ****ing bird (prick of all pricks), 10m? make it 20m and people may believe it, he'll still go end of season imo like but not for 10m
i hope we can build a team to sess liking.... now if we sat sess in a start of the summer and asked him what we whould need to do to keep himat the club most players whould give a reason or two and we keep him (bring gyan back or get a big man in to hold the ball up for example) then mon has the entire sumer to see if sess and what he wants fits into the team if not then we sell him
Love the idea that you think a footballer may have an ounce of loyalty in them......but they are a rare breed... Ask Sess what he wants?...MoN is the manager and it's got **** all to do with Sess who he buys, Sess is just a cogs in a machine..(the main cogs at the mo.) Facts are if a team like Arsenal do come in for him, they would probably offer him a lot more than he would get at SAFC,... The main task is to get the highest amount possible, and a bidding war could lead to a very tidy sum for the manger to have at his disposal.
its somthing which happends alot marra wigan have done it for a few years to keep hold of players...bolton have done it in the past to not to mention torres or half the everton team f you let the player have some input there alot more likley to stay
Don`t worry it`s the school holidays - he`ll be crawling off to the outside midden with his dog - eared picture of Mary Poppins and w*****g himself blind for a couple of weeks.
In front of who? Cracking player but I can't see him dislodging Ben Arfa, Ba or Cisse to be honest. He's worth more than £10mill mind. I'd say £15mill, but even at £20mill a team wouldn't have got themselves a bad deal.
What??? Like Mensah, Gyan & Muntari?????? For various reasons, it didnt happen to work for us unfortunately! Regarding Sessegnon? Nowt we can do about it! If he wants to go, he'll go! We'll get a bit of cash and work our way around it, a la Andy Carroll, hopefully!!!!!
