I wondered about that too. Does this ruling simply apply to those on 'scholar' contracts? If so, in the event that we unearthed another John Barnes, could we not simply slap him on a full-pro contract, regardless of age, and protect our investment that way?
Will the new pitch stand up to it, or will the new pitch be delayed again? http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sp...der_using_Watford_for_home_games_next_season/
My gut feeling is that they will leave this time. The club has probably taken as much flack from our own supporters for the pitch as for the three building projects combined, and even from our own managers and players. On top of that, relaying this summer is the one firm, time-specific committment that Bassini has always made. In his shoes, having spent a significant amount of money on something that adds little commercial value, I would only be prepared to draw criticism for the poor state of the new pitch if Saracens were covering more or less the entire cost. And even if they were willing to do so, I'd want to make that public, something Saracens might (quite understandably) want to contractually prevent.
Looking back to the interview that Bassini gave to the WO in the middle of February, it is clear that he was not prepared to rule Sarries out of playing at the Vic again next season. http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sp...news/9536830.In_depth_interview_with_Bassini/ My concern is just how long it takes for a new pitch to settle down. If I remember back, it is a long time ago, the then new one was not that good for the first season.
If SD wants a new pitch for next season why on earth would we be entertaining thishttp://www.newsnow.co.uk/A/559730690?-276
Well what a turn around for the big man. http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sport/9627304.Iwelumo_in_Championship_Team_of_the_Week/
I know for certain Sarries cannot wait to move out. The infact they are keen to build a ground with a capacity of of only 10k says something.
Just goes to show what a good run and cheap prices will do. Maybe that explains why Elland Road looked so empty.
Pics of newly-refurbed #watfordfc pub to come 2moro, folks. Also, I've got news of a £multi-million building coming soon... Moose has tweeted the above. I wonder what the second line is all about.
