What always make me feel better is just thinking i would rather be 2 points ahead than 2 behind. All in our hands
Yes I mean the fact that we could conceivably draw with Pompey, lose to Reading and still finish top is quite reassuring (Reading would only have to slip up once and with many up and coming games in a short period and their small squad it is quite possible). Even though Brum are going well there is no chance they will catch us.
I reckon we will win all three of our remaining home games, and pick up at least 4 points from the three aways. Job done on the final day of the season.
I want the job done long before then as I have a Coventry shirt to wear for the last game and I shall be cheering them on to win and in so doing send our friends from the east down. Now I wonder where I got that idea from. Wearing the opposition's shirt and cheering them on to win so that another team you are not particularly fond of get relegated. What has been so nice about this season is the retribution.
All I want is success for Saints. I want them to win against Coventry and don't give a toss if it means Pompey stay up.
A win for ourselves against Palace would put the pressure right back on Reading who travel to Brighton on Tuesday to play a side who have just slipped out of the play-offs and need a win to get back on track, will people on here be backing Poyet's men I wonder?!
Brighton would never cheat or play dirty (cough) so I'm hoping that Reading get at least 2 red cards.
Absolutely. Whatever Pompey do is out of our control and frankly, should be outside of our care. Let's concentrate on Saints and not dilute our support by getting distracted about what happens to team This or That FC. EDIT: BTW, I didn't know Reading's Jem Karacan broke his ankle, when being tackled by Leeds' Michael Brown, on Friday. Did anyone else..?
No, he is a big loss for them as Karacan and Leigertwood have been constants in their side giving energy and solidity. I expect Jay Tabb to come in but not sure if he is a like for like replacement.
Looks like we've lost Spider as well...these things sadly happen in every team during a season...it's how the team copes that's important.
And I think we are better equipped to lose players than Reading who have a smaller squad. When they were on that epic run they lost against Peterborough because they had a lot of games in a short space of time and could not rotate.
It is looking tougher and tougher for West Ham with Birmingham and Leicester in good form and Brighton wanting to remain the play offs and Bristol City fighting for their lives.
Hull's late winner just about keeps them in the play-off race too, so that's all five of WH's remaining opponents currently having something to play for.
I think Hull and Middlesborough will fade; Leicester are the ones coming up fast. So I think it is between themselves, Cardiff and Brighton - who do have a tough run in probably riddled with suspensions! If we win our home games and barring a massive goal difference swing we will be promoted.
Well apart from the Reading - Brighton game I have been right so far; we will just have to hope Brighton win tomorrow and Birmingham do us a big favour last game of the season. Eitherway promotion is our goal.
