I thought it was the stench coming from the 'out of date' tactics used by Liverpool ?

Dave, No one famous is a good poster mate, he just hates Liverpool!! <laugh> At leats he know's his ****.

Anyway, after our infamous spat earlier in the season after you were seemingly (endlessly) convinced United are in decline and Fergie is just plain lucky, I'm inviting you to gve your opinion now and if it has changed?

We've not won anything yet but it has to be said we look fairly strong.

I wish we did use them. Simply belting it up to a big centre forward couldn't be any worse than our current game plan (which involves belting it over the head of a big centre forward...)

I don't need to use multiple names to take the piss out of you and your club, there's a long line of fans from a whole host of clubs who think your current predicament is both hilarious and well deserved. Now jog on (walk on?) back to your reruns of the A-Team you clown!

By the way, if you're going to pick someone up on their grammar or spelling then you should at least finish a sentence with a full stop you ****ing moron.

Should have used a semi-colon instead of a comma in that sentence.

    Ruffian,

Stop trying to spoil my fun with NOF! Page and I walked him into this dual personality thing ages ago and he was just too thick to work it out.<laugh>

To answer your question about the decline.

NOTE:1 As far as possible I am trying to be objective.
2 This has nothing to do with Liverpool's present situation.

As you know I have not backed off saying that Manchester United Football Club are already in decline as a commercial organisation. My reasons for saying so is based upon the history of commercial organisations ( though I will admit not in sports) in sustaining pre-eminence. One of the key indicators in the slide from the peak is the use of investment resources. For over two seasons now, United have directed more of their resources and attention to process rather than product. In United's terms this has demonstrated itself in directing money towards the management of the debt rather than the team on the pitch. Strategically that has proved to be a major mistake - even if it appears to be sustainable in the short term.

Looking at the same situation in football terms, this appears very reminiscent to me of the end of Liverpool's reign. A pragmatic approach in the style of play and a reliance upon other sides not maximising their opportunities.

Now, I never stated that United would collapse (say a la Rangers) but I can foresee a new power structure in the Premiership. Ferguson said that United needed Liverpool. For once I agree with him and the same applies to Liverpool itself. How that will ultimately work itself out remains to be seen.

Now has Ferguson been lucky? EVERY manager has to have the luck with them. After all they have to rely upon at least 11 players with a generally low IQ to preserve their jobs! Now I don't like Ferguson as an individual but you can't deny his record. But YES he has had more than his fair share of luck.

After all that. How is ya?

****ing hell Dave, you really are a simpleton, a paranoid one at that.

And your assertion that Fergie has had more than his fair share of luck is genius. I LOVE the fact that ****tards like you try and rationalise United's success by putting it down to luck. No doubt you think Liverpool's 20 years of corner turning is largely down to bad luck! Walk on! You muppet.

Thank you for your reasoned response - says more about your abilities to develop an alternative reasoned argument than it does about my post.

    Evening Dave,

I can't agree with you there Dave that United are in decline as a commercial organisation.

We are breaking records on the income side of things, although yes some of the does go towards serving debt but this is clearly managable and not unusual with alot of successful businesses.

We can talk about investment in the team until we are blue in the face but needless to say I doubt we'd agree.

I think we have team of young players that can challenge for the next ten years. Say we had no investment in the squad in this time, then for sayat least the next say 7 years we could still field :

    De Gea

    Rafael Smalling Jones Fabio

    Nani Cleverly Pogba Young

    Rooney Welbeck

And that is leaving out some considerable talent and like I said without signing anyone which we obviously will.

I personally just don't see this decline what alot of rival fans seem to be hanging onto.

All successful managers, players & teams need some luck but to suggest Fergie has had more than his fair share, whether you intend to or not, it seems like you are trying to slightly discredit him which just comes across as bitter.

Anyway, hope you are well <ok>

I'm well, yeah. Very well after last night, whch gives me the confidence to say I think we will win the league. Which, given the very strong assertions from the football world at large and in particular the posters on this board, will be an act of complete genius on Ferguson's part. Not luck. None whatsoever, just simple inspiratation and man management of a group of players deemed average by some (fools).

Commercially, I don't see us failing. The bubble will burst in football but that will happen to all, there will not be a next big think who will take over from us, it ain't going to happen. We weren't invented by sky sports and placed on the planet by them as the one's to watch, we were long in existence and already hugely popular so us, you, Barca and Real will remain the top clubs whatever happens. Always.

As for the bit about this being like Liverpool's fall from the top, surely you must have noticed that this is an evolving side (we always are) and not one left to stagnate and turn to ****, as is what happened at Liverpool. We have a load of youngsters coming through, I don't need to name them. Yes, there are some old timers who will need to be replaced but the pragmantism comes in here, he decided against doing it last time, instead buying width and youth in defence and in goal. Next time he can indeed buy those players we need but in the meantime we should have nicely pocketed another league title.

Poor season in europe admittedly but this happens and something had to give, we are not defined by this and thankfully we made sure our bread and butter was taken care of and the cups, including the CL, are always secondary.

You can dream we're falling apart Dave but it is not happening any time soon.

All managers are lucky by the way. Fergie has that in equal measure, no more no less. The rest is his genius.
