Interesting that Warnock said he wished it was the last game of the season, it suggests he knows exactly who is going and who he will keep.

If it was guaranteed we would keep Snoddy etc. I'd honestly be fine with waiting until next season.

    Hello Mate

I am Gary Cooper, current Chairman of L.U.S.T., thanks for giving us the chance to come and answer questions here.

The Trust is a trust for all seasons, we realise when things are going well on the pitch people will get behind the team and the manager and we applaud that, its what we should do. but things do come of the rails from time to time and being 'fickle yorkshiremen' we tend to do our best moaning when all's not well so its mine and the boards job to ensure the trust is able to accomodate all circumstances and i think we have done that fairly well of late.

    no worries.

i am the current chairman of L.U.S.T. and have been in post since early 2010 with the current board (albeit one or two have left and been replaced since that time).

the trust is an independent body whose aim is to provide a voice for its members based upon the agenda set by its members, its democratic, regulated by the FSA and falls under the Supporters Direct umbrella of Trusts as preferred by Parliament, Uefa, the FL and FA. we answer only to our members but try to encompass the wider leeds utd fan base through initiatives such as Leeds Fans United which has brought together RMC's the SC and the Trust in the spirit of unity to help ensure the voices of Leeds Utd supporters are heard regardless of who the club listens too or not as the case maybe.

we want the best for our members, for all leeds fans, for the club and community, we might not always agree with all what the best is but we will always represent our members in the manner they demand as well as we can.

    fire away :)

Hi Gary, glad to have you on board.

My question for you is around growing the LUST membership. Online stuff is great, but surely the old fashioned leafleting/signup on matchdays is something not to be ignored? I'd be happy to distribute/scribble on a clipboard if help is needed. I would hazard a guess that there are thousands of fans that have no idea about the existence of LUSt, nor its raison d'etre.

hello mate, its a pleasure to be here.

yes we have had a couple of attempts at leafeletting and signing up at games and we will be doing that again at some point in the near future.

we are hoping to get a profile piece in the local paper soon to inform people a little more about what the trust is and what it can be for all leeds fans and we are going to run an email campaign probably during the close season to try and drum up numbers that way too.

membership numbers are important for many reasons, there is great strength in numbers and they matter to people like mr bates so i am keen to grow them as much as possible but equally for me keeping the dialogue open right the way across the supporter spectrum is as improtant to ensure all sections of our support are represented and heard.

the trust really is available to all and all are welcome.

What do the trust think about the lack of funds for the Revie statue? Is this something they would consider backing to raise the trusts profile & help to get a much deserved statue of the Don?

Maybe set up a fundraiser or something & get the YEP involved. Its a sure way of getting some free advertisement, whilst giving something back to the fans & getting people on board with the Trust. Maybe even ask Bates for a contribution <laugh>

your question was brought to the meeting last week and one of our board members got in touch with one of our contacts at the club who told us the target budget had now been met and that a fundraising project was not needed?

with hindsight and a little more time this is something we maybe should have been involved with much earlier mate so i take your point!
