Bib. Do you consider yourself to be a normal human being. Although regrettable Celtic's fans reaction, was at that time in keeping
with football crowds throughout Scotland and England. Thankfully we lived in a more enlightened world now and most of the racist
abuse amongst Scottish Football fans is restricted to be used against Irish.

In the great fair minded minds of Scottish football fans especially 1980EasterRoad, I have no doubt that no Irish man playing or Managing in Scotland has ever been threatened or abused. Sure even a Scottish footballer who was so evil that he opted to play for the Country of his fore fathers (completely within FIFA rules) and suffered abuse the length and breadth of Scotland. The team was Republic of Scotland. Stereo Typist I find it difficult to agree that Neil Lennon was any more confrontational than M.O'Neil. O'Neil by his nature commanded respect, maybe Neil cannot command as much but he was targeted from as soon as he came to Celtic.

Super , your correct about the Walters incident at the time black players in Scotland and England received racist abuse , move on 10/15 years when racist abuse had been highlighted but Bobo Balde was targeted not in one or two old firm games try 7/8 yet the clowns from the blue side keep refering to the Walters incident .

We all know the real reason why my mate Neil is a target of the bully boys, but only I, Big Bad John, have the balls to say it: it's because he's ginger. Any one who's seen me play, or read my no nonsense newspaper columns will know I'm as tough as old boots. However many's the night Neil and I used to lie in each others arms and sob ourselves to sleep. In this politically-correct world, Gingerism is the last publically acceptable prejudice and it's about time something was done about it.

Dev - I do realise that you're not one of the plastics or one of the paranoid masses. It's clear to see you have the ability to think for yourself and don't always go with the party line.

I am proud to be a Rangers fan but this ****e with Lennon tarnishes my club because of the association with ****s like the two that are in court currently.

I dislike Lennon - nothing to do with his religion or political leanings but for reasons of football and mainly because his face. He doesn't deserve any of the ****e that follows him outwith football but on the park he doesn't do himself any favours when it comes to SFA reprimands.

We only did it cos that's what everybody else was doing at the time?

That kind of childish excuse is hardly in keeping with your recently posted tenets of the "Decent Celtic Fan".

    Loopy doesn't do bullshit.

I have absolutely no problem with people disliking other people, it does grate on me when people say they "Hate" him (or anyone else for that matter), Hate to me is a very strong word indeed and although i'm a forgiving sort who finds it hard to bear a grudge, I just don't see how anyone gets so worked up about a game of football to reach such an extreme viewpoint. I think if hate starts becoming a factor in an person's support for a team then they really need to stop watching football beafore they drop dead with a stroke of a heart attack.

    It's not healthy.

Fair do's to you, an honest opinion.

Lennon is a bit of a hot headed dick at times but if being a dick meant you deserve bullets and half baked bombs to your door then we would all be coming down with them.

Decent Rangers fans who spout the old 'he brought it on himself' mantra do not know the damage they are doing and the legitimacy they are handing to the knuckle draggers.

Racism is utterly unacceptable. Just like homophobia.
