Vettel will start on pole for tomorrows race while Webber will be dissapointed with that effort and 8 tenths off his teammate. please log in to view this image Lewis Hamilton put in a mighty last effort to come second but he should have been only about 3 - 4 tenths off Vettel as he had a Kers Failure. please log in to view this image Webber will start just ahead of Jenson Button, while Alonso managed just to hold off Petrov for 5th. Stunning effort from Lewis. Vettel is just on another planet right now. But when you consider Lewis had no KERS and how that effects brake balance, his performance was incredible. What's up with Ferrari though? Set up issues? Cold track? If Lewis gets his KERS working he could jump Vettel at the start as for some reason RB aren't using KERS.
Nice summary, Im knackered so ill keep it short. Vetell, Hamilton and Alonso miles faster than their team mates, though they are regarded as the top 3 drivers in F1. So I think its really harsh to criticise Jenson, Webber and Massa. McLaren very fast (story of the GP so far) which is great news for the fans. McLaren fans of course Mercedes very slow after Schumacher was talking like he could take the title, I just knew they were running on fumes in Barcelona. So very worrying times for them. Ferrari also slow compared to testing, I dont think its set up or a problem with the car, Red Bull were always hiding their pace in pre season testing and McLaren have made a massive step in development. Can't wait for the race tomorrow, though with the clocks going back...ouch.
Mercedes very slow after Schumacher was talking like he could take the title -- There are so many amusing postives from what just happened. Ace
When the red lights go out it will be interesting to see whether Petrov makes it difficult for Alonso to drive between Button and Webber. Could be a coming together straight away? Or will Alonso aim to go outside and risk dirty track?
Two big shocks in that test: - RB7 faster then RB6 - Ferrari's pace That RB FW flex is insane. I know it was bad last year, but now it's even worse: please log in to view this image
They tighten up the tests and suddenly everyone's wings are flexing more. I was shocked by Red Bull's pace, two seconds slower than last year people were suggesting before testing. Imagine how Vettel and Webber must have felt when they got in the RB7 for the first time and it was quicker than the RB6.
