Right chaps, here we go again......

We travel to Swansea on Friday hoping to keep our recent momentum going as we hunt down that European place.

The last two meetings have both ended in draws.

2011/2012 Sat 17 Dec Newcastle Utd. 0 - 0 Swansea City Premier League
    2009/2010 Sat 13 Feb Swansea City 1 - 1 Newcastle Utd. Championship

Overall, at Swansea's ground our record is good.

    Of the last 17 games:

    Swansea Win - 6
    Toon Win- 10
    Drawn- 1

Of all previous results (home and away) the statistic is:

    Swansea Win- 9
    Toon Win- 10
    Draw- 5

I have a personal feeling that we will win 2-1 and that Ba will open up the scoring for us.

As normal I've set up a poll with a 100% prediction record evident over recent weeks for the majority on here.

So.... what do you think ladies and gents?

If we play like we did in the last two games, there's no reason not to believe we can win it. However, if we are lacklustre like we were against Norwich or Spurs and Fulham away we'll get soundly beat. So hard to say really. Swansea haven't been that great either lately, but their home record this season is stellar. Those numbers from the past ... they're like compiled over 80 years, so what do they actually say? As far as I'm concerned I'm just really glad the team has decided they have something to play for. I have a feeling after it was clear we were safe and we lost to Spurs a mentality set in for a few games that we basically were going to get 7,8th and had nothing really to play for. I think most of our players right now feel CL qualification is still on the cards and that is precisely why they're trying so hard. Chelsea still has CL/FA Cup matches, Spurs will want to win the FA cup as well, Arsenal cannot reach second and might get nervous too. it's highly unlikely we'll get more points than any of those 3 teams given that we have a tough run in, but Arsenal have to play city next so who knows? If chelsea get into the semis of the CL or final of the FA cup they will not be fully competing i the league anymore. So 5th should be a realistic target for us right now. I think we might beat swansea, but it will be tight. 1-0 or so. Cabaye, Guthrie or even Tiote with the goal.

We have won 3 games in a row. For that reason I'm going for a loss.

I can't remember the last time we won 4 games in a row.

Swansea are a good team and under Brendan Rodgers play some lovely football.
I'm going for a draw as I dont see an easy game. 1-1.

This will be a very tough game, Swansea are a good side particularly at the Liberty. If we don't maintain the quality from the last couple of games then we will definitely get beat. I think the key will be closing down space effectively, they like to play lots of pretty little triangles so if we follow the ball they will run rings round us. The key will definitely be in the midfield, they line up with Sigurdsson in AM then the small guys Britton and Allen in behind so if we can outmuscle them with the likes of Tiote then that would really work to our advantage.

See no reason why we can't win, but no way should we be underestimating them, they were crap at SJP but they're a different kettle of fish at their place.

It's not going to be easy... But I think we have enough quality to get a win. With HBA and Cisse in the form they're in, we're far more dangerous to Swansea than they are to us. Now I do know they are superb at home, but I'm not betting against us getting a win though

Its going to be harder than WBA and the Dippers, we need Tiote and Cabaye to have blinders to stop their football

Swansea started to struggle more the last couple of weeks, though that said against Tottenham it was more a case of Tottenham playing very well than Swansea not performing and Everton also picked up a very impressive 2-0 win at Sunderland a few days later. This will be a test of character for both teams probably a draw but if anyone is to win think it will be Newcastle.

I'd take a draw and I think it will be one. Tough side to play and you have to do a lot of chasing. Hopefully though they'll find a few problems with our front 3.

Swansea are starting to look shakey.

If Perch and Willo can hold off Liverpool, they can hold off Swansea.

The only place I fear us getting raped are on the wings. I'm sorry but Jonas isn't a better fullback option for us than Santon. At least Santon has the pace to get back when he's owned by a diagonal ball or a through ball, Jonas was getting annihilated and didn't have the pace to recover.

    I'd play -

    Ba-------Cisse--------HBA

    --Jonas--Tiote--Cabaye--

    Santon-Perch-Willo-Simpson

    -----------Krul--------------

Jonas can assist santon on that left hand side a bit, plus we'll have Perch with his decent pace to help out also on that side.

    I'm gonna go for a 1-2 win.

Swans are struggling cos people are starting to realise you can press them in their own half and they will make mistakes. Virtually all of Spurs' attacks came from a misplaced Swans pass in their own half.

Swans play nice football but they're not too clinical in the last 3rd.

And you can pressure their defence.

They have been very good at home, I'd be happy with a draw, is Dyer back from suspension, I always thought he was ok, changed my opinion last time they played at SJP
I thought he was a bad tempered little toad!

Sinclair and Dyer can both be handfuls.
