What are your favourite words that are hardly ever used?

Mines is "Defenestration"

Which is the act of throwing someone or something out of a window.

 

Flange.
I still have a wee smile when I (rarely) hear it said

 

Has loads of uses too. Technical terminology, Fannies or the classic Not the Nine O'Clock News "Flange of Baboons"

 

General Bawbaggery.

I honestly can't actually think of a better term to describe someone engaged in such antics.

 

Callipygous - Having a perfectly formed arse.

 

Barse - the place between your balls and your arse.

 

That's know to me as buffers brig

I love the word kibosh: to prevent continuing!

 

I call it the "Scranus"

ps a hear flange every day in work. Am numb to it's powers now. Right anuf of this moronic jibber jabber am away to see an average band called SOS which stands for strawberry sumthin sumthin. Used to be called the apple scruffs, very whiney
