Frightening amounts of Pardew threads on the mackem boards these days... you lot looking for a new manager again?

I'm curious about McClean (sp?), so was he in your reserves for a while and then MON comes along and plucks him from obscurity? I've not once seen any mackems discuss this player before he burst into the team and performed. He looks a good player, better than Hendo did who I thought wasn't ever anything special. McClean looks rooneyesque in terms of how physically developed he seems for such a young lad. How come none of you guys knew about him before he played? How come you lot more know about our players than your own (sorry, couldn't resist a dig).

We did though, he was playing in the reserves and him and noble were tearing the league up, winning most games, and playing great.

Even some of the 1st team players seemingly asked Bruce to play McCLean, but he didnt.

MON came in, McClean had a game against Man U i think played out of his skin (i "think" we won 6-2 or something daft like that) so MON gave him his chance, and the rest they say is history.

A few of the lads had seen him in the reserves and had all said he looked like the answer to the left side problem, unfortunately Mr Bruce seemed to overlook this and preferred to play Seb on the wrong side.

We didn't know a lot about him in general as he came from Derry City, and the league doesn't get great exposure.

SAFC Derry, one of our posters, says he had a cracking understanding with the left back over there, a lad who was on Celtics books for a while, wouldn't surprise me if we took a look at him.
