    The usual you mean? Defending the indefensible?
    Stories about incompetent Belgian architects? That bitch Thatcher and her biased police force? That horrid newspaper The Sun? Stories about how the dominant side of the last 20 years is in a never-ending decline?

    That was actually better. Just replace: with; and you where there.

    Well done, signs of improvement. D-.

    WTF was Hart doing for that Nani goal? He's all over the place there, proper shambles.

    That is actually hilariously bad grammar, are you trying to be ironic? His use of : was correct, the ; is usually used before descriptive passages or lists, its not used instead of a comma or for examples, you moron.
    "And you where there" is a sentence fragment that makes no sense. Better re-check your homework.

    Semicolons help you connect closely related ideas when a style mark stronger than a comma is needed. By using semicolons effectively, you can make your writing sound more sophisticated.

    A colon ( : ) introduces a list. A semi colon ( ; ) is never used before a list, but rather to separate the items in a descriptive list (if it's just a basic list, a comma will do) as well as to break up clauses where a full stop could also be used. More basically, a semi-colon can replace ', because' or ', therefore' or something similar within a sentence.

    e.g

    I think you are a knobhead; you support Manchester United.

    But the long and the short of it is: Bazray was wrong. Ra was using the colon to introduce a list, albeit with only one item.

    That would be this, you jackass:
    When I correct your grammar, you will see that you are wrong; and that shall be reward enough.
    His sentence didn't have 2 closely related ideas. It was an open clause with an example.

    We did one a while ago on class and grace, clearly, no-one listened.

    (am fearful of making a gramatic error, because I know I will get hammered, had a few sherbets, so got an excuse at least)

    You don't need to put the 'and' in there if you already have the ;
