I will take my hat off and admit that Newcastle were simply better than us this season. Yeah we could say things would have been different if O'neill had been here from the start, but that doesn't matter.

Newcastle haven't really played better than us, they've just spent more cash and been able to bring in the caliber of players they needed to win games. The reason they've won all those games was due to their players quality.

I believe fully that when O'neill is given some cash to spend, he can improve our team and help us finish above Newcastle.

O'neill is a far better manager than Pardew, and our team as a unit is far better than Newcastle, but Newcastle have Ba and Cisse to carry them. They've just let their strikers carry them to 6th.

If we are allowed to get another quality striker to play with Sessegnon and Gyan/Campbell, plus another quality winger and perhaps a fullback, we could teach Newcastle a lesson.

I reckon we could easily finish 6th next season.

Their two strikers have carried them.

    Haway the lads.

Pardew is a twat, O'neill is far better. We are better than Newcastle.

WRONG!! QWOPpy has come to show him the error of his ways.

1st off... <laugh> Your name is brilliant Mr OP. Twonk is such a brilliant and under used word so fair play there.

Right your article contradicts itself as you say we win matches due to the quality of our players yet you also say we are being carried by our strikers..... If this is the case, you are being carried by Sessegnon!

We are 12 points ahead of you even though we have struggled seriously with injuries as well as the ACoN and even with you riding a crest of a wave you have not closed the gap. Sure, you stopped it from opening up and from time to time got closer but now it is opening up again.

I will agree that O'Neill is a better manager than Pards and I have no qualms in admitting that.

You will sign players and I have no doubt about that and they will be good too, but so will we. Potentially we will be in Europe and if we make it (touch wood) we should (being the operative word) sign players of better quality than you will. If we don't we can lay claim to finishing in the top 6 which could help us too.

Right that is me done. Always be careful to write emotive posts as they can come back to haunt you. Some of the guys on here have brilliant memories (not me sadly) and will gladly pull this up at the end of next season if you do happen to be wrong.

Apart from that, welcome to the forum. You might see me about a bit as I like talking to the guys on here. Good banter with them. You will enjoy yourself <ok>

QWOP is ok, he does not take himself or the board too seriously, for some of his chums its very important though, you will find them on here more than their own board, which has died a death recently

    Here I am!

You're clearly just an idiot though (possibly a child? 15 I'm guessing?) so I'm not going to bother wasting my time destroying every point you've made. Show us that you have a shred of intelligence first and then I might.

PS: His very first post on the Sunderland forum is all about Newcastle. Maybe Cest has finally found his "hate your rivals more than you love your club" protégé. <whistle>

Wonder how much it will be for Pardew the 1st manager sacked next season.

The pressure will be on and I just cant see them having as good a season as this year, and the natives wont be happy.

They will be long to begin with. No pressure though. We are ahead of where we want to be time scale wise. Another season in the top 6/8 would be perfect and most fans would know this.

I honestly would have agreed with you a while back, but we've only just now started using the 4-3-3 system with Ben Arfa, and our performances have significantly improved. It seems only now that Pardew has deemed us ready to use that approach, and deemed Ben Arfa ready to be involved on a perminant basis.

By moving to this new system, with Cabaye being able to play in a system he's used to, and being able to take advantage of a Ba, Cisse and Ben Arfa strike force, I think we've just stepped up a notch, well over the performances during our unbeaten run earlier in the season.

Mind you, it depends on who we keep hold of, but if we don't lose any key players, bring back Saylor and add a new LB (allowing Santon to go RB) then the team will start next season far stronger than it's ever been so far this season.

Well there's nothing wrong with believing you will finish above Newcastle next year, I believe it will be very close. But please, there's no need to be insultive about it.

IMHO our strikers haven't carried us. Cabaye and Tiote are top quality, as is Coloccini and our keeper, and we have played the full season without arguably our best defender.

You must be joking, if you are 8th or below after 10 games the natives will be moaning like **** especially if you are still playing hoofball like you have a lot this season when under pressure

    Ba
    Cisse
    Ben Arfa
    Tiote
    Cabaye
    Coloccini
    Saylor
    Krul

They've all carried us. And whadd'ya know, that also happens to be the spine of our side. Funny that.

8th next season and a decent run in Europe would do me. If we don't get into Europe, top 6 again would be the aim, but it may be harder to keep competing with Liverpool if they spend big again in the summer.

Well that would be incredibly reactionary of anyone to complain after only 10 games! There is a possibility the vocal minority would complain but that is life. This is purely hypothetical anyway. We are winning the league next season anyway ;)
