I am going to go with: Davis Richardson(If not Fit Butts), Fonte, Hooivled, Fox Puncheon, Cork, Hammond, Lallana Lambert, Sharp Subs: Guly Martin Harding De Ridder Morgan.
Am I the only one thinking dropping guly to the bench is an idea, he's one of our best players but he just doesn't understand what this means to us as shown by the game at their place. I'd swap cork or spiderman for hammond so we can have some bite, passion and leadership. And bring in de ridder for guly as I feel both him and hooiveld have really got the grip of how much this means. However if lambo isn't back then guly starting is a no brainer with de ridder replacing chaplow.
We should play better back on the carpet at SMS..noticed our players had problems at Blackpool...tripping over and the ball had a strange bounce. Jack Cork mentioned the pitch was sticky. Not saying that was why we lost, but I'm sure the team will be happier at home. Nice 3 points to start weekend, especially if WHU and/or Reading have dropped points. I can see game going two ways...early goal and we'll win by 2 or 3 goals...or fail to score early and have very stressful last few minutes. We have been getting quite a few wins lately, but don't feel we are winning as comfortably as earlier in season.
Reading recent posts and articles from Nigel etc, I have come to the presumption that Lambert won't be featuring on Saturday. We can beat them without him.
I'm only not staring him as hammond has more leadership and bite in the cm which is what we need in a derby like this.
Hammond has unfortunately reached and passed his level now. He is a strong and game player and I actually would consider him for Peterborough. But at home against week opposition you need ball players and craft to pick a pass. Schneiderlin has been immense this season for that very reason. I don't see it being that close.
Officials: Southampton v Portsmouth (1:00) NEIL SWARBRICK Charles Breakspear and John Flynn Fourth Official Darren Sheldrake Last Saints game was the 2-0 defeat to Leicester. Was promoted to the Premier League at the start of this season. Claim to fame - sending off Joey Barton v Norwich.
Just beat me to it ! http://www.football-lineups.com/referee/287/ or http://rateyourref.co.uk/referee/Neil-Swarbrick
Disagree about Hammond passed his level now. He was immense earlier in the season. However, I agree thayt Morgan is a shoe-in for his class and craft. If any player would be left out for Deano's leadership and bite, it would be Cork. Personally, I'd play Cork and Morgan for this game and Deano at Palace with Morgan
Last time Pompey beat Saints away in the league we got relegated, so maybe we'll avoid victory and stay up
Looking at sheep entrails now are you? Hope you manage to save your club in one form or another. Good luck after 3.00 p.m. Saturday.
