i still find it incredible how football clubs are allowed to get away with things. Any other businesses go under, no second chances that's it. Strange world we live in!

It amazes me even more how you can become a tax exile or own a business with an Off Shore account. Is there any reason why anyone whose not doing anything wrong would want such an account, is there any other benefits ?

Typically, when a business goes into financial meltdown, and takes out CVA (a voluntary agreement that you pay back so many pence in the pound, normally between, 1p-10p), I am not surprised that he has got away (alleged) with paying about 5 pence in the pound back. What amazes me is how long it took to confirm Bates as owner (assumed) hiding behind the off shore Kaymen Islands account.

Leeds United, whose chairman Ken Bates is a Monaco-based tax exile, has paid just £154,000 of the £7.7million it owes in tax, according to the papers.

The only benefit I can see is that he makes himself look like a bigger idiot than before. Added level of hypocrisy when he complains about the way the UK is being run.
