Tough times, tough times indeed to be a Liverpool fan. Is this new to us? No. Have we become a little fickle because of a couple of years of better football? Maybe.. Tactics and lineup are set and then match day. Setup and tactics spot on, create chances to score 4 or 5 goals but none are converted. Newcastle are good enough to get goals but on the whole we outplayed them when it came to creating chances to score from. As with Wigan and a host of other games the same pattern occurs. Team plays well, creates lots of chances, takes none and concedes. This was exactly the same as the arsenal game, we failled to net in that game too. Even if the events Arfa not sent off and a penalty given or 4 yards offsode Cisse allowed to score, we still would have lost, which is shocking, we created 6 good scoring chances that at least 4 of should have been taken. This was the pattern against Arsenal. But I see it as we destroyed arsenal in all but scoring and we should have trashed Newcastle yesterday not just beat them. Individual failures are what is costing us dearly, not team organisation or tactics. Individual failures have led to goals conceded as much as chances missed - Wigan was nothing to do with Kenny's managment, the defending was pathetic from suppposedly good players Again at Newcastle, Kenny set out a team that created enough to yet win the game in the first 45 minutes but INDIVIDUAL failures on the day let the whole effort down. If we put that kind of effort into the first 45 and we fail to score, we don't get a chance to sit tight and keep what we've gained and also get a breather and counter. Arsenal Wigan Newcastle should have all been over after 45 minutes but again Individual flops when it came to earning your pay, cost the whole team and the effort of playing at that tempo to create chances. When we fail to score, it has to be in their minds now, here we go, we're gonna concede after all of our chances and posession. It is a bit of a habit now. We rarely deserved to get beat in almost every game we lost. That doesn't get you points but it shows that on the whole the team has been set up correctly and for the most part the right tactics used. I also would say Suarez and co are banging then in in training so what can Kenny be thinking when it does not happen on the pitch? The manager does not need to go, players need to pull their weight Or go Suarez has been pure sh!t the past few games, odd bit of brilliance but more gash than great of late. We need to throw money at the striking problem in the summer and that will fix our woes I can tell you. Throw money at it now, two top class strikers, proven ones!! it will fix 4/5 of our woes. We need to put the whole season into context to be fair. The overriding factor is failure to score from creating bags of chances, 12 or more great chances created against Newcastle and Arsenal 0 taken, whats all this about Kenny? I think anyone blaming Kenny needs their heads looked at! YNWA Biatches
Sorry to be picky, but didn't we score one against Arsenal? Tbh, I don't think we played nearly as well against the Newcs as we did against Arsenal. We've outplayed a lot of teams this season without getting the results we deserve, and I think the confidence has ebbed away. We need to scrape a couple of good results for it to return.
Some of the posts On this site are getting really surreal. Can some people stop reading Mills and Boon or stop smoking grass for a bit? So none or very few of the defeats had anything to do with Kenny while the wins were due to him? We deserved to get 7 wins but got 6 defeats...
Ok. Kenny can never be to blame. Players, referees, Comolli, owners anyone but Kenny. Attack the person who dares to criticise him. He takes credit for victories but not the defeats. The Villa game will be crucial. A win he gets a reprieve. A defeat or draw he gets the sack in the summer. The owners can recognise a dud when they see one.
Question: If Kenny turns it around, and we do really well next year, will you come out and say; 'I was wrong'? It could happen!
I remember Houllier giving an interview post match. He said we had more corners, more shots, more possession. The pitch was too hard, the weather was too cold and there was wind too. We got beaten 3-0 but we were the better team because of all the above. At least Kenny is honest enough not to use these excuses. How can we be playing well if we do not put chances away?
F**k off. So you think I have got a personal vendetta against Kenny? I will be the first to say he is doing a god job if we do well. The manager takes the credit.
