I came on he on Wednesday morning and had a go at the players and to a lesser degree MON after the abject performance against Everton. I stated that we wouldn't get anything out of the next 3 games and the season would drift along with maybe a couple of more wins we would finish 10-12th and let's be honest after the very poor start we had under Bruce we would have been more than happy with a top twelve finish. Well today I wish to retract that and publicly declare that we will finish 8th and I accept that I was wrong and will never doubt the capabilities of my team while MON is in charge. I never really thought that we had a performance in us like that, and it may be unfair to single out a single player as man of the match as it really was an excellent team performance, however I would like to give my man of the match award to our manager Martin O'Neill because to pick the players up after that performance against Everton ,take them to the fortress that is the Etihad stadium and to put in a performance like that is nothing short of miraculous . We know of all the stats that we broke regarding , city's record this season and our away record at city over the prem years, all this makes it even more remarkable. And it is because of MON,s ability to get this sort of display after the huge disappointment of Everton that I now realise how special this guy is, I knew he was good and I knew we made the right appointment but I didn't realise how good he is. Can't wait for next season to see a team moulded by MON and starting off against the others on level points who knows where will end up ? But here is a stat to get you all thinking I saw a league table today that shows what the league would look like if the season started on January 1st and we are sitting in 3rd place on 23 points only 5 points behind Man Utd and 3 behind City.
Articulate and not afraid to own up when wrong....I have misjudged the folk of Shiney Row for many a year I was wrong.
I am not being picky, but you would be 4th in the form table! Behind us on goal difference I believe. Still an amazing turn around for which Arty must be praised for.
City was a great performance.....now they have to re-produce that every week... Consistency is the key... Good post though.
