I did not expect Ferrari to be trailing Mclaren. Just goes to show testing is not always a true indicator of what to expect for the season!
The finger looks a bit limp. That was sensational from Seb, he was unbeatable. Stunning performance. For Lewis to split the Red Bulls felt like he'd got pole. Awesome qualifying.
Vettel on pole but Hamilton P2 with a brilliant last lap and Webber Struggling as well. But Hamilton had a Kers failure on that last lap so that cost him about 3 tenths. Everything set for tomorrow guys!
Hopefully its really hot tomorrow then I think we will see Ferrari's true pace, theres something wrong which I believe is getting tyre temps up
Never mind Fred. Couldn't have happened to a nicer team and fan . They should have cut their losses and started on the hard tyre. Let's just hope Petrov doesn't jump Alonso at the start as he'll be in real trouble then! Next we'll have Manny on here saying Schumacher can still win - that's if the poor lad has spontaneously combusted!
Never mind Fred, there is always your PS3. Did anyone see Lewis slightly smile and shake his head in the press conference when Seb was getting interviewed about not having KERS, class, I would love to see him in that car, them two would have a right battle
Mcwilliams I swear I did not just copy your first sentence. But I do share the sentiment, never mind FA and JL
Yes Moltisani, that was a look of total disbelief. Vettel is bloody quick in his own right though but I would like to see what Hamilton could do with that car. Hamilton deserves masses of credit for that lap and indeed the whole qualifying session. He and Vettel are in a class of their own - just look at what they did on the hard tyres whilst everyone was on softs.
I'm not too bothered. As long as they have it sorted by Europe i'll be happy. Petrov imo was driver of qualifying. Out qualified Heidfeld by 2(?) seconds and 'best of the rest' as they say. Webber the worst or maybe Heidfeld
Wa hey! If you want to make a race of it to 300, I may feel the need to go spam the Man United board. Please don't encourage me though mate, I am in rehab.
No I genuinely am very disappointed I hope you feel for me lol, I had my head in my hands when he crossed the line, anyway lets sum this up: The BBC commentary was very impressive, Martin was on top of all the action every second and David did not make any bloopers. The intro was fantastic apart from the fact the same time last year Eddie keeps mentioning in that poem that Michael's time is up. I feel for any Renault fans though, for obvious reasons. Anyway from what it seems the tyres are very prone to degrading badly in a matter of laps, we saw many examples this morning, Sutil was an example of the KERS and DRS working together and what happens at the wrong time. Michael had trouble with the performance of the car but Norbert Haug thought the problem was with KERS and that it was not working most times throughout Q2 for Michael. I must point this out, as pit-stops will increase inevitably because of the weak tyres, won't the front 10 runners have to pit very early unless they manage the tyres and slow right down around the start of the race?? , and if they do slow down won't they will be overtaken very quickly with the aid KERS and DRS because they will be within a tenth or 2 tenths of each other by the drivers behind?? If so Michael is the first none-top 10 runner which has a choice of tyres tomorrow, won't the tyre degradation of the top ten play into his hands?? Anyway, there are no points awarded for Quali, and the tyre degradation will be playing havoc with the top 10 cars tomorrow. Don't be surprised if you see a lot of spinning out around the first couple of laps. I am not saying Schumacher will win, but that he should manage higher than 11th tomorrow.
Yes I do feel sorry for you Manny and he is in a better position given he can choose his tyres, but they aren't degrading as quickly as testing suggested they might. And I'm also sorry to point out that Vettel and Hamilton also didnt have KERS but beat their team mates. In testing he wasn't using DRS nearly as much as the other drivers who were living on it. Unless he was testing race conditions (which seems unusual toward the end of P3) maybe he's not that comfortable with it. Won't matter tomorrow of course.
