Dear me there was one i couldn't believe what he was saying, he said we've had a lucky manager over the last 20 years and when he leaves it'll go downhill, what a load of rubbish, we've had a good team and won champions leagues as well. They are the lucky ones a rich arab decided to buy their club and now they are trying to buy success like Chelsea did a few years ago.

    Thoughts ?

Never going to happen. It's a pipe dream made up that's become so technical it will be near on impossible for UEFA to enforce.

Manchester City have already signaled their acceptance that they may not be able to fulfill all regulations and pass the FFP’s first monitoring period review. The question remains over how UEFA deals with clubs such as Manchester City, and possibly Chelsea, who in all likelihood, may fail to fulfill UEFA’s criteria in gaining a license for European competition the first time around. Then you start adding numerous other clubs to the list and and it looks more and more likely that it won't be enforced.

    The possible punishments would be:

    a) Give them a warning.... HAHA like the clubs would give a ****!

    b) Fine the club. Although this may seem like a chicken/egg conundrum...no big deal!

    c) Deduct points. This is likely to occur in the group stages of the Champions League and Europa League. Importantly, this measure was a new punishment proposed and ratified immediately at Nyon in an Executive Committee Meeting in January 2012.

    d) Disqualify the team from UEFA competition. Although this is a major step, it is difficult to see if UEFA will take this stance..never going to happen!

    e) Exclude the team from future UEFA competitions. Again, similar to above, it is difficult to see if UEFA will adhere to such a measure

    f) Three more possibilities that are currently being discussed are:
Include the withholding of UEFA prize money for taking part in the Champions League and Europa League.
Preventing clubs from registering “new players” for UEFA competition.
Restricting the total number of players that clubs may register for UEFA competitions.

Also add to that that UEFA have shelved the proposal to implement transfer bans on clubs after receiving legal advice suggesting that it would contravene the European Community’s Restraint of Trade regulations.

Basically all of this suggests strongly that it won't happen. It's too far gone to be implemented, could of happened 10 years ago but didn't.

Good points. I personally don't think it will be anywhere near as simple as some think it will. I still see major flaws in whats being proposed, but I'm far from an expert, just from what Ive read etc.

I see something being implemented at some point, but the next couple seasons I personally think will be far too early, especially with all these complications.

Time will tell though, and to be completely honest It is about time something was done. Either way it will be interesting to see the impact it has (whatever, and whenever it is).

P.S. I haven't got time to read all the links now, however, will do later. Thanks for the info anyway <ok>

Let's support City and a manager who buys expensive action figures and throw them on a field...
