so if you support any of the more established teams in the prem you're a glory hunter? I always thought as long as you stick by your team through thick and thin you're a supporter. Its nothing got to do with going to matches imo (i go btw but that doesnt mean i am/am not a glory hunter). I know a guy who goes to arsenal games with me even though he supports manu (used to support arsenal) THAT is a glory hunter
I agree There are lots of reasons why people can't get to games. For myself it's largely down to distance (I live over 300 miles away from the Emirates these days) But I still make the effort to get to a few games each season. I just would have thought that someone who claims to live a stones throw from the ground and tells others (i.e. OxoCube in Nigeria) that he doesn't understand the rivalry and passion because he's not from North London - would make the effort to at least get to one game in a season ? Especially as so many of our games now go on general sale.
so many of our games now go on general sale. (meaning website?) You sure? When I look, those are at least 5 or 6 weeks away. Red membership is almost forced on us.
I've bought at least 5 pairs of tickets from general sale this season including the Newcastle game recently. All around the £35 mark. The rest of the games that I have been to have been season tickets. Oh and as I have always lived in North London, I must be the most passionate fan in the World. Except I don't believe that you are more passionate because you've always lived in North London. I do believe that you must attend some games to be a real supporter though.
ahh. yes - but have you looked at the prices? None in the cheaper seats ( apologies to John Lennon ) the rich guys can rattle their jewelry.
Arsenal vs Wigan on the 16th is on general sale now. I just keep an eye on the web site and buy when I haven't got a ticket already.
Magic Man, I buy when I can go, if I can't go I don't buy. I can't buy in advance because I do not work fixed hours or days. You don't have to go to be passionate, nobody said that, the idea that someone not from the manor knows how people from the manor feel about the club or derby days is the issue. They CANNOT know. They can't know about the resident permit bay dramas for parking on match days, they can't know about the Greek Supporters clubs around Holloway that used to give drinks to people when we won trophies. they can't know about the walk to Highbury stadium when we won trophies and people gathering outside the main entrance singing songs. They can't know about doing victory drives around Islington with Arsenal scarves wrapped around the wing mirrors.
Magic - thanks I hadn't looked before you came on. Yes there are £47 seats available - I'm trying to reach a mate to see if he can join me.... A Monday night though !!
