    El Classicoast returns!

    sfc.jpg V portsmouth-new-crest-267x300.jpg

    We are now approaching the second derby game of the season v Portsmouth.

    LAST TIME:
    Pompey 1-1 Saints (Ward / Lambert)

    Not the best of games last time, but maybe a fair result on the day.

    MY PREDICTIONS:
    TEAM:

    Davis;
    Richardson, Fonte, Hooiveld, Fox;
    Guly, Hammond, Cork, Lallana;
    Sharp, Lambert

    SUBS: Martin, Harding, Schneiderlin, De Ridder, Connolly

    I think the above team would be suitable because in my opinion Schneiderlin can give away a few silly challenges, and I think this team needs some leadership for a derby like this.
    Lambert will return along with Richardson.
    <ok>

    THE SCORE:
    SAINTS 3-1 Pompey
    (Lambert, Sharp, De Ridder)

    I think the game itself will be closer than suggests. I think it will be 1-0 to Saints at half time and then in the second half we will fight back after conceding an equaliser.

    The stakes are high for both sides, and despite being at opposite ends of the table I think that it will be a close game.

    Lets roar on the Saints to a long awaited derby win!

    COYR!

    Your thoughts!

    Are we allowed to comment on this yet?!?! <whistle>

    This is gonna be a cracking game. First time for years we've been higher than our fishy friends. I four one would love to see a reverse of the previous scoreline at SMS.............but 1-0 would be just dandy!!

    Can't see Connolly being fit, and can't see Schneiderlin being dropped

    I think it's more likely:

    Davis
    Richardson Fonte Hooiveld Fox
    Guly Schneiderlin Hammond Lallana
    Lambert Sharp

    Subs: Martin, Harding, Cork, De Ridder, Barnard

    It's vital we don't get drawn into too many battles, on and off the pitch! Last thing we need with a few injuries is any red cards leading to bans! They will be right in our faces from the start.

    Hopefully it will be a much better game than the one in December which was shocking,one of the worst matches I've ever seen.
    They are normally cracking matches and hopefully this one will be too.

    I'd like to see us play a 4-4-1-1 with Guly playing behind Lambo.

    as long as we win the game, that is all that matters! Would love us to destory them, but should imagine it will be a close run thing as that's just 'how we roll'!

    Absolutely cannot wait for this one!
    I'd love to see De Ridder get a start (which he won't, and rightly so in such a match) to stretch Pompey. I felt that at Fratton we struggled on a congested pitch and that we'll open them up at St Marys if we move the ball as well as we can.
    I'm going for 3-0 Lambert Hat trick!

    Nice thread starter as usual, but please... no El Classicoast. It cheapens the match. This derby is second to none and requires to extra build up by alluding to another.

    Agree 100% with this, I found it embarrasing when they called it El Classicoast on BBC for the first game.

    This game is actually worrying me, for the simple fact that everything is pointing to a Saints win, and for Saints to win well. I think if we score early then we could win comfortably (which would be nice)! But the longer it stays goalless then more chance skates have got, either way, should be tense and exciting <ok>

    I cannot wait for this match either. I would personally like a 4-1 win as that would shut the skates up as that is the only thing they ever have on us. Although i would take any win. My team would be:
    Davis
    Frazier Fonte Jos Fox
    Guly Hammond Morgan Lallana
    Lambert Sharp
    Subs: Harding, Martin, Cork, Chaplow, Barnard
