Not realistic to compare Saints and Celtic's European or league records.

Only way to do it would be if the Hampshire FA declared independence from the rest of the English FA, Saints and Pompey then forming a league with Winchester, Basingstoke, Aldershot, Fareham, Eastleigh, Newbury, Romsey and Chandlers Ford.

Then Saints/Pompey for champions league places and Aldershot having a crack at the Europa league each season.

Thie season Pompey's administration would then effectively kill off all competition for the league ( a la Rangers) and Sains can claim a league title.

And you think you would reach the last 16 of the CL if that happened? Or a UEFA Cup final?

Rather that than be a big club in a piss poor league. Seriously it's like Liverpool playing in league 2. Get your head out your arse mate, outside of Scotland Celtic are nothing. Out of the champo league qualifying stages and then out of Europa losing to a team from the 2nd division in Romania for you lot next year.

A fan base 20 x that of Southampton (why do you think we get invited to the USA every summer along with Man Utd, AC Milan etc.) and well known and respected throughout Europe.

We have a league where two teams from the same city are dominating. Wonder what other league is similar...

possibly, who knows with the draw, Apoel Nicosia have
Substitute Newbury for another small team in the county and you have the same situation, any club outside the 2 glasgow and 2 Edinburgh clubs are teams with crowds and finances no bigger than League 2 ot Blue square premier sides

boundaries do not necessarily mean Newbury would be excluded.

You just proved my point. Last time you reached a European Cup final was in 2003 - 9 years ago. Are any of the players who played in that game still about? Middlesbrough and Fulham have reached the UEFA Cup final since then, and they're certainly not 'big clubs'.

Have to agree with what you say about the EPL though

yep teams such as ourselves who can attract 30k plus a week are looking for promotion to Englands top tier, in Scotland you have Ross County (2k a week) running away with the Scottish league 1.

How do you fancy Scotland's chances in the euros this summer?

I watched your game away to Blackpool at the weekend. Two of the biggest teams in the Championship and the stadium was half empty. I've seen your games on the highlights show too and your stadium's usually half empty.

You might get promoted but to where? The most overhyped league in the world: the EPL. How many times do you hear the Sky commentators repeat this mantra during games?

    Say something often enough...

Celtic fans should be careful about what they wish for in regards to Rangers.
If they were to go then I doubt SKY would renew their tv deal with no old firm games.

Better watch out for your own "house of cards"
