I have had several requests about the Pompey match-day thread including from my fellow mod. To make sure there is no misunderstanding, or in fighting, or disagreement about this one, Because it is so special. I have had several discussions with various members out there and as a consequence have asked Rickie Lamberts Golden boot, to do another match day thread. (He has done one already which was closed at his request which contained a poll, I have asked him to do another one without the poll as I know a lot of you are not too happy with polls) This is an unusual request but in the light of what has been posted recently regarding this type of thread on this occasion we thought we would ask rather than leave it to chance that nobody does one or one is rushed at the last minute or several come out at once. We do not know when there will be another chance of doing a local derby thread involving Pompey. If Rickie decides he does not want to do one after all then another one of you will be appointed. We will find a new way of doing match day threads next season if that is what you want. BT
I appreciate it. One will be prepared for Tuesday/Wesneaday so there is More time to discuss the build up to the game. I also offered to cross it within the Saints and Pompey board, if this is not wanted then I will stick to just our board, but I do understand and realise Dev and PM like doing their own match threads. You cannot cross board threads it at the moment........What I suggest is that you let them know there is one on our board and invite them to take part.
It isn't Dan...... but some were not happy with the threads being started early as a consquence others were not getting a chance to post as they were waiting to do it later. This lead to a discussion as to how it might be covered in future and was there a better way of allocating the job.
I totally agree with the decision. Now all we have to do is prepare our vocal chords for a goal-fest from our Super Saints.
Although I see your point, I think what Beddy is getting at is that if there is a poll, it inevitably gets discussed. Those who aren't keen on the poll or polls, will then lose interest in the topic and won't sit through pages of speak about it. My interpretation ^
Thats near enough...DTLW..........The mods will put their heads together and maybe come up with something that you guys can chew over. Polls are limited in what they can tell you to be honest and are not particularly popular. There has been a few suggestions from you guys as to how it could be done.
I think some people are looking to far into it... It's just an opportunity that comes around every week. I think Monday should be the earliest that anyone posts a math thread and if more than one turn up, merge them. It has never been a problem before Don't over complicate it
Well I basically got banned from doing them from some stupid superstition. I thought they were okay but maybe not....
I have only ever done 3 match threads. 1 win (cup game) 2 draws (both league games) Might be best if I steer clear of any league games if we are going to have superstitious so-and-so's around.
We asked you to do it for Wednesday......today is Monday. On wednesday it will be stickied.......next time it done early it will be closed!!!!
It's a derby and people are eager. I apologise once again After this match thread I will be out for a few weeks.
