We have statistically won less matches against QPR than against any other team in the history of the PL. Just 22%.
If we get CL football next year then this year is acceptable. If we dont then it is a massive failure.
Acceptable ? Maybe - just. But being out of contention so early for everything is a disappointment and the manner of how we have played this season is also a huge disappointment.
Better to get CL football in third place I dare say Mr Life otherwise it may not be a wonderful life for us next year. 4th place won't guarantee anything at this stage for two reasons - if Chelsea were to defy the odds and win the CL and 4th place also requires us to play in the qualifying rounds of the CL. If we have a bad evening as at San Siro then we could be up against it. You know the thing about this team I find difficult to understand is that professionals getting paid professional's money to run it and play in it tend to not size the opportunity at hand and take control of the club's destiny. Instead, by losing yesterday, we leave our destiny in the hands of our rivals. Not very professional I'm sure you'll agree.
This is what makes supporting one of the 'big' clubs seem so unattractive to me. The high level of expectation seems to morph into a sense of entitlement that then generates a rather 'spoilt brat' attitude when things go awry.
True. People underestimate how vital 3rd is over 4th Espcially now 4th could leave us needing to beat 3rd in italy or 4th in spain to make the cl proper. Not an easy task....we coul of easily got done by udinese.....
Dont worry Gooners we will do to Spurs when they visit LR in a few weeks as we have done to you, Chelsea and Liverpool and thats take the 3pts.
We were 2-0 down with 13 mins to go, we've also beaten Chelsea at Loftus road so there's no shame in losing there
April 29 could be a decisive day for Rangers at the Bridge; they won't want to get relegated there. Are the fans behind Hughes now?
Good idea Mr RVB! We have won 51% of all our matches against City so it's not a bad stat this time... please log in to view this image
Hope they don't bring along their bus and park it on the pitch as they did the last time they visited Hope too that the guys remember we need three points from every game from now on. It would be a good time to start another 7 game winning run.
I would have even less respect for them if they did that. You'd think with all the money they splashed out on top players, they would come and play.
I think they will come out and play Mr 20K. Like us, they need to which brings me to my next point. It id not too different from the one your raised and it is that they are possibly the most wasteful team in the league that I can remember. All that money spent and there's talk of even more and all the while, they're chasing their hometown rivals. I think half a dozen managers in the EPL would have done better with the size of their back account. Thank God they hired Mancini.
I don't think he's a bad manager but i think you need a really special manager to take over these players. Bearing in mind, the majority came to Man City for the money, you have an idea what the mentality is for these guys. No loyalty is one that springs to mind. They must be a nightmare to control and i can only think of a few top managers that could control these imbeciles - SAF, Mourinho, Wenger, Copello, Hiddink....
