Sorry if this is old news, but anything that gives an excuses to rubbish the waste of money that is the Olympics has to be welcomed. I just found out that Emirates Cup has been cancelled because of this IOC/Lord Coe Crony/Olympics Loving cronies jolly. Not only that, now they say that there will be no home football matches in Londo until after the Paralympics have finsihed. I am writing to my MP to suggest that any public funds used to finace this rubbish should come out of the taxes of those who have shown an interest in the games, i.e. those who registered an interest and/or got tickets to the events. I haven't acthed any Olympics since 1984. I would loce it if we won Euro 2012 because that would really overshadow the Olympics, and to really annoy the establishment it would be great iof this led to a footballer wining Sports PErsonality instead of some athlete person. I mean, just how much skill is there in running, jumping?
Come on, it's just a dressed up pre season friendly. The cup is bollox. As long as you get the right number of games preseason, why would you even care?
Maverick has been banned from our board. It wouldn't surprise me if Ensil tries to come back under yet another guise. I really don't understand what part of '**** off nobody likes you' he doesn't get ?
My point is that even a kick about in the park is more important than Olympics, and I object to our national game and great clubs being disctated to Jack Rogge and Lord Coe and the like. London is BY FAR the greatest football city in the world, when you consider how many profesional football clubs there are. Emirates Cup also presents less well off folk like me a chance to watch a good few games at the Emirates at a sensible time (rather than the CC, FA Cup midweek games in freezing winter and then the dash home).
The worse thing is, the London clubs are being forced to play away from home because of the paralympics. Seriously, who gives a **** about those games?
Paralympics is a nonsense because to be truly fair, they should have events for each and every single separate disability. E.g. a 100m for the blind, then the deaf, then the one-legged, then teh wheel chair bound, then ..... the list is endless. To not do is surely discriminating. Now, before anyone says I am being disablist, I am merely highlighting how in trying to give such competitors a sporting chance to achieve, they are actually having to discriminate. Of course if they did have the evenst for each and every disability it would mean the paralympics would go on for months, if not years, which would result in both aims of the Olympics crew being met, first to usurp football from the London heartlands, and secodnly it would solve the legacy issue.
