Both are top notch....be over the moon if MoN tried to get in on the Ba sale..(if there is one). Either of the two would make a huge difference to our team, as it's a top striker we are missing, and they both seem to fall into that bracket.
Cisse reminds me so much of Andy Cole but with the ability to score with his head too. Ba has been more the provider for Cisse hence a lack of goals but he has had a bit of a dip in form too. If you were to ask me now... which one would you prefer to go in the summer if one had to then i'm sorry but it will be Ba all day long. I think Cisse's contract has NO buyout clause too so if anyone wanted him, Fat Mike will hold out for £30m plus as he is a hard nosed so and so...
Ba is playing well and I'd actually say his value is increasing as he shows his versatility. He is playing wide and much deeper role. The fact he is so unselfish shows we've got a great character on our hands and bodes well in terms of getting him to stay. Ba is still getting chances too and should have scored in both our last two matches. The front three and unstoppable at present and I feel priviledged that'll we'll get to watch it while they're with us.
And this. Cisse is Andy Cole with heading ability. Makes the exact same runs across the front of defenders.
Haha Cestria Mackem, just had to get your digs in didn't you. You're right, Ba has been on his biggest drought since the very start of the season but he's been unlucky with a couple of efforts and his position's been slightly shifted. He's now playing a lot more of a role in build-up play a little bit deeper along with Ben Arfa. Ba is a better footballer than Cisse, who is there to stick it in the onion bag and put in a shift closing down defenders which he has done an unbelievable job of so far. Make no mistake though Demba Ba is still playing very well as the goals weren't the only thing in his game.
Cheik - phil's right about what he says about your game against us - neither of them looked dangerous against us - the only forward who did look dangerous was Shola ****ing Ameobi (I wish he would retire - save us 2 games a season of playing against a world class striker who's ****e against everyone else!) - Cisse went missing for most of the game - Ba was OK on the ball but had nothing up front! Not sure about them being "sussed" - Cisse looks a proper striker - a "Darren bent" style goalscorer and will get 15-20 a season (and probably more) easily - Ba (IMO) is a class footballer and goalscorer - does everything Cisse does and works as well - I can only speak as I've seen and I haven't watched all of your games
So far Cissé has showed some fantastic finishing but Ba still looks the real deal to me. He works tirelessly and does it with a smile on his face. You can tell how much he's just enjoying his football. And he has a laugh with everyone on the pitch, opposition, refs and teammates alike. He doesn't sulk either. Sure he waves his arms when he doesn't get a corner but he just smiles laughs and plays on. I'd easily value Ba at 12-15 mio right now. He's coming into his prime, he's not missed a game all season. Yes his knees looked shocking when he first joined, but I guess that's just how some skin scars. I'd rate our front line as the best in the prem right now. Of course Rooney and Van Persie might be more complete and established players but I wouldn't want to be playing against Ba holding it up Ben Arfa running onto it and slipping it to Cissé if I was a defender. Also I think Pardew has finally realised he can't turn Ben Arfa into a winger, he's a deep lying forward of sorts. He gets frustrated on the wing having to defend, between defence and midfield lines though he's just deadly cause the ball is only inches from his foot.
Reading from the Mags about how Ba has been moved possibly explains the appalling goals per game record, Asa pair, for Senegal. They are both quality, I guess our biggest **** up was not getting Ba when he went to West Ham, but he was determined to play in London. I think the player the Toon will have to fight to keep though this sunset will be Ben Arfa, back to fitness and long admired by SAF, now proving he can perform consistently in the Premier League, there may be big interest.
My was not to disagree that they both played badly against your lot. It was for 2 reasons: 1) Sussed out? what a stupid thing to say. Why has Messi not yet been sussed out then? Ba has been moved to a wide position, Cisse is scoring goals, no sussing out been done there I don't think. 2) Using one game as proof of someone not being a very good player. Cisse has had 2 bad games since he's joined us, that's amazing for a striker new to the PL.
Unfortunately I have to agree, though I think his destination will be Arsenal. Wenger is revered by French players and he likes Benni. Arsene Wenger: “Ben Arfa’s a player with huge potential – one of the most gifted we have in France. He’s an exceptional talent, but, due to injury, has not had a big run for a while.” I have to say I'm not even sure how good he could be now he is reaching boiling point. The big clubs always end up poaching those types of players. The ball is stuck to his foot and he has the best shoulder drop in the league. Him and Cheik are gooing to be majorly difficult to retain.
The problem with ben Arfa is he's stroppy. By the chatter he's not the sort of character to knuckle down and fight for his place. I dont see how he could get past nani young or valencia, he's not he SAF kind of player because SAF expect running defending and tracking back, and it's just not something Ben Arfa does. Luckily. If he goes, Arsenal might be a more likely destination but Wenger won't drop 15 mio on it, and that's what Newcastle asks these days. no 6.5 mio cheeky bids.
We should thank SAFC for paying for Pappisto's travel to the NE where they was a change in circumstances leading to him signing for Newcastle... and helping us push for a top 6 and maybe a place back in european competition for us.
Also apparently Ba has already been offered a new contract of £50k/week plus a large singing on fee. Anyway, why in gods name would he want to move at the minute? You just have to watch him play to see how much he loves it here!
Some daft ****ers believe any old interent hoss ****e. You'll be telling me Ben Arfa is better than Messi before long. For this read Darren Bent and Gyan. Badge kissing, lovely interviews saying how much they love it here and smiles on the pitch didnt stop them leaving either.
