QPR could face a Football Association charge if it is confirmed that a match official was hit by an object thrown from the crowd during Saturday’s win against Arsenal at Loftus Road.

Play was held up after linesman Stuart Burt was struck by something as Arsenal, who were beaten 2-1 by Rangers, prepared to take a free-kick in stoppage time.

The incident is likely to be investigated by the FA if it is included in referee Mike Dean’s report.

What on earth could possess someone to throw an object on RVP or the linesman? <confused> We were brilliant on the day, 2-1 on up with only seconds left! <doh>

    Fe**in' eejit!!!! <grr>

He was hit from something thrown from the crowd. The footage shows that. And it will be included in Dean's report no doubt. It'll be a fine and hopefully a life ban and court for the plum that was responsible.

The FA will work with QPR and police to find the fan who threw a coin at referee’s assistant Stuart Burt during the visit of Arsenal to Loftus Road on Saturday.
Sportsmail has learned that match referee Mike Dean has included the incident in his match report, which will be filed with the FA today and officials will trawl CCTV footage and interview club stewards in a bid to find the perpetrator.
Burt was struck on the back of his neck by a coin thrown from the Ellerslie Road Stand holding QPR supporters, after he awarded a free-kick to Arsenal for a foul on Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain in injury time.

Dean halted the match for two minutes and brought his assistant in from the touchline as supporters began pointing to where the coin had come from.
It is understood Burt was subjected to multiple missiles, and more than one may have struck him.
The FA would seek a lifetime ban for any supporter found guilty of the offence. The Metropolitan Police said they had yet to receive a complaint, while QPR declined to comment.
In February 2009, Aston Villa supporter John Billington, who threw a 50p piece at a referee’s assistant, got a five-year football banning order and was fined £2,300.

im not saying that he deserved it but he was getting the abuse for the freekick at the end for letting van persie place the ball a metre and a half away from where the foul actually was committed - which was commited literally at the lino's feet.

if he told rvp to move the ball to the right spot i doubt he would of got half the abuse.

funny thing is that it took a 20p to the back of the neck and front row screaming at him to ask rvp to move it to the right spot

Shame on your R block. The bloke second from the left clearly knows who threw it. If you are reading this then do the right thing, contact the police and hopefully save our club from a crate load of unwanted trouble. From where I was sitting it looked like there were a couple of missiles before that also.

Can the person who did this please see about ticket options at Stamford bridge where you will undoubtedly find more sympathy.

There were a few things thrown, wrong to tarnish the whole R block with the same brush, tbh I think it's been over-hyped to the max, coins are thrown regularly, we'll get a small fine and that's all <ok>

QPR say anyone found to have thrown an object during the game against Arsenal will be banned from Loftus Road for life.

An apparent coin-throwing incident occurred during the final minutes of Saturday’s match and was included in referee Mike Dean’s report.

In a statement, QPR said they are now in the process of reviewing CCTV footage in an effort to identify those responsible.

Club chief executive Philip Beard added: “Such behaviour is simply not acceptable at Loftus Road, or anywhere else for that matter.

“As a club, we will do everything possible to prevent such incidents happening again.

“The club appeals to any fans who saw the coin throwing incident to come forward and assist our enquiries.”

Rangers have also appealed for supporters who have any information to text 07557435421 in confidence.

He must have got some wicked spin on it as it would have had to do a 180 in mid air to him where it did.

The Club is aware of a coin throwing incident that took place in the latter stages of Saturday's home fixture against Arsenal at Loftus Road.

The Club are now in the process of reviewing CCTV in an effort to identify those people responsible and will take the appropriate action once this process has been completed.

QPR supporters are reminded that this is a very serious offence and anyone caught throwing an object onto the pitch - towards officials or players - will be issued with an immediate lifetime ban from Loftus Road.

QPR CEO, Philip Beard, added: "Such behaviour is simply not acceptable at Loftus Road, or anywhere else for that matter.

"As a Club, we will do everything possible to prevent such incidents happening again.

"The Club appeals to any fans who saw the coin throwing incident to come forward and assist our enquiries."

If you wish to report the incident confidentially, please report it to Stadium Control by texting 07557435421.

It is incredible that there are such people around - money at linesmen at LR, a can of beer at Beckham in Toronto - at least Becks got even - the corner he was trying to tske resulted in a goal - not what I wanted but at least there was some justice
