Although still something which should be far more discouraged by the powers that be, I believe what Perch/Bradley Johnson did i.e. feigning contact or the extent of it to get someone sent off is a far worse offence that diving to get a penalty/free-kick. It should be announced that a panel of, say, four ex-pros will watch all questionable incidents and if three of the four feel the player has milked it unnecessarily to get a red card for the opponent, it's a three match ban. Diving for a penalty like Carroll tried and Mark Davies did should be a one match retrospective ban for a first offence and a three match ban after that. Problem solved.
Personally, I think if any punishment is to be given then they have to be 100% certain. how do you judge a player looking for contact, the one that sticks his leg in an area he knows he is going to get fouled? there has to be a line and the only clear cut line is absolute certainty.
Your team is made up of cheats, divers and morally bankrupt people in general yet you have the audacity to castigate Newcastle for using your own cheating tricks against you? Madness
Cheats and divers>Chelsea have had more than their fair share. Morally bankrupt people>John Terry ticks all the boxes for that one.
please log in to view this image If avoiding defeat to Chelsea is something to run to the hills and shout about I feel for you. Beating Liverpool isn't even considered a scalp for anybody these days it's pretty much the norm. 11 different PL teams have beaten you this season. It's a real shame as I used to really look forward to the Liverpool games
Yeah,we feel the same about the Chelsea game,we're sick of beating you Keep telling yourself your a massive and successful club and one day it might come true for you DL. We had to start from scratch after H&G and KD is in his first full season so we have to go with the flow for now,but thats life and thats football. So fill your boots lad and wum away.
And yet, you're not one of them. I make it...4 games in a row we've beaten you. In fact, I can't think of any other team we've done that to.
Unlike yourselves we know where we stand as a club. Winning things for us is a bonus, not granted. We support Chelsea (most of us) because it's our local team and we have a connection with the club. We're in decline now and probably won't ever be the force we were about 7/8 years ago but we won't go away, I think most have accepted that now. Truly beating a team is finishing above them in the league and winning a proper trophy (not drawing a Mickey Mouse cup to a Championship team). Do you think for one second we would care if you beat us twice a season if we finished above you? G.Neville was spot on when he said that in 08/09 when you lot did them home and away. I'm not here to actually WUM. The problem with your fans is that the expectations are so high yet the standards/personnel are so low. You are never going to be the force you were in the 70s/80s, you have to accept that, times have changed and the game has evolved. The sooner Liverpool address the real problems at the club, the sooner you can move on. Benitez and Dalglish are the reason you are where you are today, yet Hodgson was the one that was castigated by Pool fans. Sheer madness.
So hang on...one minute you're spouting all this '11 different teams have beaten you' and the next you're saying it's only 'truly' beating if you finish above them in the table. Make your mind up. Only 7 teams have 'beaten' us so far this season then, if those are the rules.
That is correct, but with all due respect 5 years ago or even going back further than that it would not have been fathomable for teams like Blackpool and Wigan to not only win at Anfield, but win convincingly. Their fans will rejoice and remember this for years so for them they will still see it as putting one over Liverpool. If You had said to a Swansea fan 10 years ago (when they were in the 3rd tier) they would be within 3 points of Liverpool not in a million years would they have believed you. To fans of these clubs they still see beating Liverpool as a major scalp, despite your plight Liverpool still are and will always be a big club.
LFC are my local team DL and no matter how good or bad things are i'll always support them, since our last league title we've won a few pots and had a few good players that have kept our spirits up. If Chelsea are ever in a position to go through a period of sustained success as we did you'll understand the hunger we have to bring those days back. But when you consider how far your club has come in the last 20yrs(Full Members Cup to League Champions)theres hope for us yet.
That's fair enough. But we have now had a period of relatively sustained success. From 1997-Present Day we have won 3 League Titles, 5 FA Cups and 3 League Cups, in that time we've been one of Europe's best clubs and also picked up the CWC and been in the top 6 every season. The Mourinho era was the golden era for us like the mid 70s-late 80s was for Liverpool. Chelsea always have been a big club that massively underachieved and then of course hit financial problems went down and were stuck in a dark whole for a about 15 years, the 15 year period that everybody seems to think defines our history, forgetting the before and after. Because of Sky and the environment of modern day football, the teams at the top are far harder to shift. City and United will continue to be bankrolled by television, UEFA and FA money and the gap between them and the others will continue to widen. Chelsea and maybe Arsenal are the only ones that will be able to bridge that gap. Liverpool is a rebuilding process that I feel will take about 5 years now.
During our time without a League title win we've won a Champions League,3 FA Cups,3 League Cups and a Uefa Cup,and despite our position now we've been a decent side in Europe. So it hasn't all been bad, some clubs in the prem would love to win a haul of trophies like that in the last 23yrs. Our plight could get worse before it gets better or could get worse and stay worse(who knows)but i've been with the same bird all my life and i will be till the end. please log in to view this image
ermmmm.... HAS ANYONE ON THIS THREAD EVER SEEN ALEXANDER DONI PLAY????? chuf's sake a 31 year old brazlian with 30+ caps... i have no owrries over fa cup semi.... or should i say GK is the least of my worries.
Let's hope that panel of 4 ex-pros will be as unbiased as a Match of the Day panel, eh ? might give liverpool the kickstart they need to make next year, their year ( or just get Alan Green on it )
