I love Canary Call it makes waiting to get out of County Hall Car park a good laugh. This Butler character to seems to have an amazing ability to royally piss off anyone he talks too. Out of our forwards I'd keep Holt, Jackson and Vaughan. Martin is a quality finisher but I reckon we'll be looking to get an upgrade, I agree what people are saying we need a finisher it was evident from the Fulham game on Saturday, but we need someone with additional skill especially I'd like to see some pace and control up there.
Fair point Boots but would stiil like the best of both worlds i.e. we score and also conceded less. Yes Bennett may work out well and I rate Ayala but wouldlike us to tighten up at the back. What do you feel is the cause of us conceding so easily?If our strikers are not scoring then its up to the defense to stop the opposition, which we cannot do at the moment.
We've had some bad injuries in the defence our first team defence for this season would easily be Tierney, Whitbread, Ayala and Naughton but I don't think all of them have ever been in the same team once this season, I think it is one of the factors to us conceding. I do reckon we need two fullbacks potentially another centre back as I don't rate Barnett or Ward at this level and our history with injuries is bad. Another reason for conceding is we don't have a decent holding midfielder Johnson is alright but I really think we need someone with a bit more pace in that area. With how fluid the midfield has looked in the past two games though it would be impossible to leave out Fox, Hoolahan and Howson so I don't know how a holding midfielder would fit in.
Also the reason for conceding is the style of play, were alot more attack minded especially with diamond. We conceded a lot in the championship to but we managed to keep scoring plenty to get us up. It's not as if were leaking goals left right and centre like wolves but we are not scoring the goals we were and I think that only points to one thing for the summer. I do also agree thar we need 2 more wing backs.
Absolutely....we keep giving away early goals, some of that may be down to still not having a settled back 4 or 3 (confused) and centre backs, but Surgeryman is spot on we can't give away early goals. The last two seasons were different in a much as it never seemed to matter, you always felt we could score more than the opposition, but it's a different ball game now. Back on topic, I think Chris Martin is easily as good as Morison and Wilbrahams, and wouldn't be too worried if he came back next season, he has the skill, but his heads in the wrong place at times. I think Lambert is of the opinion that he can't change so I'm afraid he'll be let go!! Shame. ILD OTBC
