W-y you should have seen who H was talking to last night ,would have made your hair curl Sorry H couldnt resist it.
Listening on Hornets player I heard a good amount of Watford chants throughout the game...and they are in the gantry presumably not near the away fans...(?) I remember when I went to Elland road last season....the police were filming us and I had no idea why. I've not seen trouble from Watford fans on too many occasions, if ever, so it seemed a bit unjustified. Still...not as bad as the Crystal Palace "Chant back at Palace fans and get kicked out" stewards...they are a disgrace.
Following on from Frenchie and Norway, I admit I became a fan when GT had his first spell at the club but my first game I was taken by my Dad and Uncle and it was in the seaon we won Div 4, we didn't know then what the future held. I'd love to know if there's a club that could say that they've got more of their fans born next door to the club than us!
http://soundcloud.com/billy-leeds-1/warnock-post-watford He's a pillock isn't he? Being dismissive of Watford shows that Warnock simply hadn't done his homework or just doesn't know this division.
I think Neil Warnocks commenting is typical and he has come to the division late. It is only Watford who are favourites to go down we will beat them easily. Unhappily for him and others this season the Hornets blew another strawberry..
The commentators are in the same stand as the away fans. Our singing stands are at either end of the ground, so the chants won't be picked up very easily unless they spread around the ground, which they didn't tend to, except for a couple of renditions of 'we all love Leeds'. There's usually only 100 of us if that who try to sing continually through the game, so it's not easy. Far too many people are happy to stand there and wait for everyone else around them to start singing befo It's totally unjustified, and I can't recommend the FSF highly enough for complaints of this nature. If they get enough, they can make a real difference to away clubs' policies. I remember reading about a Palace steward who was also a local councillor and assaulted two or three people he didn't like the look of, claiming he was using his right to citizen's arrest. He was since moved to the away stand, apparently. You might have been dealing with that nasty piece of work in your trip to Selhurst Park. Luckily, they left the 4,500 of us pissed-up Yorkshiremen who went there this season pretty much alone!
Talking of stewards I have a funny story. A long time ago I went on a Lufthansa flight and a lot of the passengers stood up and were taking their baggage from the lockers when the airplane had just come down and was moving to the terminals when a very Germanic stewardess appeared and shouted - Sit down. The passengers did. It was funny.
This is the Palace nutjob I was on about: http://www.thisiscroydontoday.co.uk...ncillor-rant/story-14269963-detail/story.html http://insidecroydon.com/2012/01/05/councillor-pearson-could-miss-cup-semi-final-over-steward-row/ http://www.thisiscroydontoday.co.uk...says-Crystal/story-14421828-detail/story.html Ripped a banner, barged into people and stole someone's mobile phone because they were filming him throwing a strop. And the club wouldn't even sack him. Amazed that their so-called ultras in the Holmesdale stand get such slack when their stewards in other areas appear to be such utter fascist nobheads.
You are a very bad man! lol As far as i can tell from Jon Marks' picture before the game, he was sitting in a different stand to us, on the short side... Hm, didn't seem that way...where do they sit? Coz there was no gantry near the away crowd from what i could see... Good story Ak lol
I'm sure it's in the middle of the stand, a couple of blocks into the home section. Has been whenever I've been in the West Stand anyway, which was admittedly five years ago most recently.
i'm only going by the pic that Jon Marks (our commentator) always posts before the game from his position on the gantry...it looked to be from one of the ends...but i could be wrong
Well they must have been moved for yesterday's match. Jon Marks (3CR commentator) made frequent reference to the fact that, whilst he could see the stand where they were housed, he couldn't see them as they were stuck right up at the back of it. About all that could be heard of the Leeds fans was near the end of each half - boos at half time and loud footsteps tramping towards the exits at the end.
Just stalked his Twitter feed and I can't find any pictures from Elland Road. Every website says the gantry's in the West Stand with TV studios in the South and a single camera gantry in the Kop. Here's the West Stand gantry: please log in to view this image That would make sense that he couldn't see the Watford fans then, if he was in the gantry at the back of the West Stand. And also would explain why you could predominantly hear noise coming from the West Stand. I agree, the booing was the only time the whole of Elland Road made a noise simultaneously, but there were at least 30 chants from the Kop and five I heard from the opposite end from the Leeds fans. Like I say, sound never travels well round our stadium. I only heard the Watford fans once or twice; that's how it goes.
we did hear the 'we all love Leeds' chant occasionally but it was drowned out by a similar chant of our own
That's in the South West corner, and appears to have been taken from the West Stand side, hence it sloping to the right.
