Suarez would only play a handful of games a season if they had their wish on bans for "simulation". It's always somebody else's fault.
Liverpool would struggle to field a team every game, if what DayDoDoeDontDayDoe wants for bans, happened.
Following the straight red card issued to Pepe Reina today, Liverpool Football Club have issued the following statement.... "In Spain head butting someone in the face is considered to be an act of friendship, and the players will be wearing Pepe Reina T-shirts against Aston Villa next week."
Carroll got the standard punishment for taking a dive in the area,a yellow card, he was attempting to win a pen, this is the correct punishment Following to the floor like Perch did,and as the Norwich player did earlier in the season is dispicable, both should get 6-10 match bans, its miles more hideous than what Carroll did , which happens every week, what Perch did happens 4 or 5 times a season, but is gonna get more and more if the FA dont do somethin about it.Perch is f**kin pussy , a cowardly shi*house!!
Graham Poll reckons Liverpool should appeal because there was no contact. He says this makes it aggressive behaviour (yellow) rather than violent conduct (red). Personally, I have no complaints. You simply cannot go in with the head whether it is a full on headbutt or a 'Joey Barton'head butt. Everyone knows it is a red card offence. Reina was silly and lost his normally superb cool today.
Barton managed to get sent off for going head-to-head with Bradley Johnson without anything close to a headbutt and without the referee or linesmen seeing it, and the appeal still wasn't successful. What Reina did was stupid but all acts of 'simulation' should be reviewed and play-acting to get a player sent off should be a three match ban. The problem could be eradicated overnight if the FA could be arsed.
Agreed Any 100% evidence of play acting should be an automatic five or ten game ban. Players would soon think twice.
Here's my take on it lads, Reina was correctly sent off. What he did, under the rules, is a red card. In my opinion it shouldn't be a red card as he hardly touched him and was obviously frustrated (we've all been there) but according to the rules it is. I think if you watch it he knows what's coming as well, he hardly appeals the red. It was a flash of anger and he paid for not being able to control himself but there's no shame in being passionate. If Perch doesn't go down the red card probably isn't given. Again it's disappointing but I genuinely feel that that is the state of our game to date. As said by another poster, referee's encourgage players to go down easily because it flags up the incident. Also, for the lad saying Perch needs a 6-10 game ban...
If that comment was aimed at me for my above post then I will point out that I was not just meaning Perch. I was talking about all players that are evidently 100% diving. That includes Suarez, Gerrard and co
no mate it was this one haha. I think there is a difference between a full on dive and an exagerration(sp) to highlight an incident to the ref. Whilst I don't disagree with what you're saying I think there is a grey area when people 'go down easy' (Perch) or play for a foul ect.
