I do hope so too, but we have handed Spurs a huge boost by our performance yesterday - they know we are still fragile.
hopefully swansea can spring a surprise though i wouldnt rule out liverpool just yet either so hoping both newcastle and swansea can pull of some shocks....bit stupid of me but i've even put some money on it though the odds were great!
It's unfortunate that we are once again relying on other teams to do us a favour but thus is the story of Arsenal over these last few seasons. I expect Swansea to put up a good fight but Spurs have always been strong at home.
Could work in our favour us losing - we've seen how we have bottled it when presented with opportunities like what Spurs have today. If they fail to sieze the day as it were, that could deliver the critical blow to their run-in. Law of averages, having put paid to our run, dictates that they will probably win handsomely today. SHould be a good game though.
They need to win by more than 4 goals I think, to overtake us. Swansea are a decent side and Spurs have not been playing well. I am hopeful it might be a draw. Not counting on it though.
Whilst funny at Liverpool's expense , this puts Newcastle in the race for 3rd. After our performance yesterday its a 4 horse race again.
Swansea have played a better passing fast paced tempo game in their first 10 minutes VS Spurs than we did in the entire 90 mins VS QPR. That's how you do it, I don't understand why we play so slow sometimes, whenever we have done that, it has stifled us as it allows the opposition to get all their man back and in position.
1-0 to Spurs then at half time - looks like we're going to be punished for our complete **** up yesterday. Hopefully the players will actually focus vs Man City, but it looks like we may be back in 4th next weekend.
Do any of you really believe that Spurs would lose this match? Honestly. Apart from the first 10 minutes, when Swansea came out of the blocks like greyhounds, Spurs have looked superb.
I didn't and still don't think Spurs will slip up today. Their FA CUP win stopped their rot, and this is why it was SO important to put in a good display against QPR, go 6 points ahead and pile some pressure on. What happened yesterday will have given them a HUGE boost - we handed them the initiative on a plate. There is still hope that Swansea will come back, but we really really ****ed up yesterday.
